Best ball mark repair tool

Sorry, but I don't really care for the single prong, I find they do not support the grass well enough when you try to draw it inward towards the ball mark. two prong works best for me.

Hard to beat a Scotty Cameron tool after it has been used a season or two, gets all sharp and fixes ball marks like a dream.

I also don't care for the single prong. You reach into your pocket, feel around, and pull out a tee instead of the ball repair. Likewise, on the tee box you pull out the ball repair thinking it's a tee.

i like the pitchfix hybrid tool that i have. the problem is sometimes it opens up in my pocket. gonna try dremeling the button down a little bit so it's more flush to the handle. but i like seeing what else is out there. some cool tools out there

I got a pitchfix from a vendor. The thin, sharp two tines go in super easy to any type of green, it is the only divot tool i would ever buy. I realize i have never bought a divot tool as i went from cheap plastic, to metal freebees to the pitchfix. Pitchfix is my go to tool.

In my experience, most players that even bother to fix ball marks use the "pry" technique which breaks the roots of the remaining grass below and to the side of the ball mark.

 

Of course different types of greens (Bent vs. Poa vs. Bermuda, etc.) will have different optimum repair techniques, but in most cases the "side-push" technique seems to be best.

not the purpose of the thread. do you get annoyed with the "show me your putter" threads when people don't tell you how to putt?

 

even worse, you don't even address the issue yourself! you just tell people what not to do and name a general "technique"

Likewise, also I find like I get a much better grip on the device with its knurled sides and thicker body than a standard repair tool. Because of this, I feel I can repair the damage much faster and much easier which is better for everyone. My only hope is that I won't lose it.

I've got some beauties, including a switchblade, but the one I use most is the simple brass-colored one.

 

The genuine Swiss Army golf knife with ball marker and divot tool is a little over-the-top.

Sadly, dirt gets in them and they become a PITA.

Had this made by LaMont Mann a few years ago. It's hefty, so have to be careful where the pointy end sits in polyester pockets - I feel safest in jeans!

I can put 2 tees in my pocket before a round, and as long as I don't lose one when it flies out after a drive, I'll put them both back in the bag when I'm done.

I don't quite understand what you mean when you say the martini tee doesn't accommodate various heights? It's probably one of the longer tees available. I am actually on my second Martini tee that I purchased because I lost the first one.

I prefer the T Lamb divot tool over the SC one due it's weight and the pivot mechanism does promote poor technique with divot repair (as mentioned earlier, might I add in the wrong thread as well).
