So did Horton Smith in 1934 and Gene Sarazen in 1935. First appearances for both. 1934 was the very first Masters and 1935 the second. In 1936 Horton Smith became the first two time winner of the Masters.

I don't generally bet on "favourites", but if I had to then it would probably be Jordan Spieth. Hard to argue with his track record of T2, 1, T2 in the last three years !

 

As for the dark horses, I will have money Each Way on Emiliano Grillo (125/1), Daniel Berger (100/1), and Rafa Cabrera Bello (125/1), who all did well as Augusta Rookies last year, and who I hope will do even better this year. Plus probably £5 sentimental bet on Langer and Couples, who are both available at 500/1.

 

I'll also have a few quid on Masters debutants Tyrell Hatton and Tommy Fleetwood, as the UK players in the best current form (I do like a "home" bet :) )
