Tiger vs Strahan

I would sooner believe that Fred Couples will win the Masters this year than Tiger teeing it up at Augusta in 2017. He hasn't played a competitive round in over a month and that was a disaster. His back could never handle the terrain for two days, much less 4 and the one thing we do know about Tiger, he would rather not play and hide behind the mystery of 'whether he will or he won't" than remove all doubt that he just can't anymore.

For someone who supposedly hates all the fame and attention, he is certainly desperately grasping to keep what attention he can, because he is game certainly can't keep it. The Bridgestone commercials are just humorous at this point.

Are you angry with TW?

Or just that he doesnt play at the same level he once did?

Tiger's definitely facing the follicle challenges that come with maturity.

I've been "blessed" with that same challenge.

Sometimes I look in the mirror and have to do a double take since in my mind's eye I'm still 25.

Even Tiger can't fall out of bed and be competitive at Augusta.

In 2010, he rolled out of a bed in rehab and finished 4th in the Masters like a month later.

Fred Couples is playing really well this year. Would it surprise us if early 3rd round we're paying attention to him and wondering if it's even remotely possible?

Sorry guys, was travelling home yesterday, back on-line now

I was CLEARLY being sarcastic about Tiger's size and POKING FUN at past threads here about him being NFL size, green beret etc

I was taking a shot at Steiny and his management of all things Tiger, that's all ... trying to have a little fun

I totally respect Tiger as a golfer ... just not as a person. He #2 GOAT as we all know

What rehab was that?

Sex addiction rehab wasn't it?

Why are you taking jabs just to get likes?

He was in sex addiction rehab bud. It wasn't a jab when it's a simple fact.

they said it was sex addiction but it was rumored to be more likely for vicodin (knee pain) and sleeping pills

don't think Tiger is huge. I think weight/conditioning wise it might be a good idea for him to get back to where he was in 2000 simply because he played his best golf then. Try to recreate that game every way possible and weight and conditioning is an easy way so why not.

You must be a young guy to say that. Getting your 25 year old body back when you are 42 is not an easy thing to do, believe me.

Again is the jab that it was in MS necessary? Jeez.

Not sure why you think it's a jab. The guy came out of gruelling therapy and managed to finish 4th in the Masters. That's an incredible achievement.

I have a source with deep connections to Camp Ponte Vedra that says Tiger most definitely became addicted to pain pills.

Whether that had anything to do with his stay in Mississippi, I don't know.

You shouldn't slander to get likes*

We really don't need the Deep Throat info, but it confirms common sense

When you fall asleep in a roadway it is pain pills or booze

Or worst of all a combo of the two ... which is the killer of lots of celebs and other folks

If he truly pulled out of this, and we will never know >>>>> good for him. Not an easy pit to climb out

Gotta love Tiger threads, same bashing under different title. Mods should put any TW thread (I mean ANY that has TW) and put under one thread.

Is it really that fun to take jabs at Tiger?

It seems several times a day on here someone has the revelation "oh oh I can spin this to talk smack about Tiger". I guess it makes the feel better.

So let's get something clear for all the squeaky clean folks on here. Be careful taking jabs at people about addictions and things you find reprehensible. first off he had taken some ambien before getting behind the wheel which if you have never taken you can become completely incapacitated. Secondly if you think you wouldn't ever become addicted to something...walk easy. I am typing this as a recovering pain pill addict myself. I have never in my life once thought about doing drugs or even drinking. I don't drink at all. I can count on one hand how many alcoholic drinks I've had in the last three years and still have four fingers left. I tore a roach size piece of cartilage off my glenoid cartilage in my right should 3 years ago racing Ironmans. I had to take pain pills post surgery and thought ok whatever...I spiraled out of control and was addicted to them for 1 1/2 years before I broke down and asked for help. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY knew. You don't get high from them, ever. once your body becomes dependent on them ( it happens a lot faster than you realize) you need them to just feel normal. I mean normal as in like how you feel without them. I was hooked taking the prescribed amount after 2 months. I wasn't abusing them. Nope. I was taking them because the pain was unbearable and ADVIL or the likes would do too much damage to my liver and stomach. Again, I didn't abuse them or take more than I was prescribed. When your body goes thru withdrawals it is a pain you wouldn't wish on anyone. You panic and get anxiety attacks. I will never go down that path again. If I get an injury my wife knows to tell the doctors I can not have any opioid based pain killers because I could relapse. I went to work fine, I went to church fine, I lived my life like a normal human but with a painful sad secret that I had to have pain pills. Be careful throwing stones living in a glass house.

^^ I'm very glad you're in recovery and living a clean life. But honestly, who are you admonishing? Did anyone take jabs at him for addiction or claim they were squeaky clean?

No but I was heading it off at the path because I have been on here long enough to see how things spiral out of control. someone makes a comment then a slight joke and then the whole thing turns into who can top who on making fun of someone about what they are suffering from. I know my post probably came off a bit too much of overkill but I am very sensitive to this subject because I am terribly embarrassed about it because I never in my life thought I would be "that guy". I watch Law and Order :SVU habitually and every now and then someone is on it as a suspect or a victim that was addicted to pain pills and of course that person looks out of control and like a junky and I panic that I looked like them. Desperate to hide my secret. It was seriously painful. There were plenty of "lows"...being fired by my doctor (who was an extremely close friend) was bad and the Pharmacist who I have known for over a decade start to treat me different was a kick to the gut but none of those got me to quit. I rationalized it in my head to support my line of thinking. I thought I could quit on my own, that this NEXT prescription would be the one I would taper off with then one bad day or 5 thrown in and its the NEXT prescription. You CAN'T quit on your own. I had one chance to quit about half way through the time period I was hooked...I had to travel for a big race and I "calculated out" how many I would need for my trip before my next prescription and I calculated wrong and I had to do what is called quick taper and I found myself curled up on my hotel room couch with severe withdrawal pains rationing what I had to make it thru the trip. I got home and I was almost completely off them and thru the tough part and I did the worst thing I could have done...I had my prescription refilled. Oh and I pulled out of the race I had been training for a year for because I didn't think I would make it thru the 140 miles because I was in so much pain...Anyway, sorry for the book but I just wanted to make sure people know why I posted it. thanks btw for the kind words. I mean it

As the son of an addict and a friend to two addicts whose lives were almost destroyed by pills, booze and other substances....I won't ever say I can relate, but I can understand.

For whatever it's worth to you, you are not that guy. You are someone people should look up to.

Truly, my father's recover and my friends' paths to sober living make them the three people I am most proud of. No hyperbole.
