Titleist Scotty Cameron Futura

Recommended Posts

• Weight shifted to innovative “horseshoe” back portion to get ball rolling faster, without bouncing

• Sole design eliminates closed set-up for proper alignment

• Stainless steel weight plugs behind the face further increase moment of inertia for added stability and better balance, sound and feel

Very nice putter. Good weight, nice feel, easy to swing. Had this putter in my bag for over 3 years before just recently being knocked out of the bag by the Never Comp Milled Series #4.

Great if you tend to close the face on contact, if your stroke wobbles or is tentative.

Soft aluminum face and lightweight head makes ball come off slower than the bulky profile would suggest and massive backweighting may produce some putts where the ball hops off the face.

Overall, the second most effective putter I've ever played, after the similarly-designed Slighter Needle.

This is a funny looking putter but I borrowed one from my club pro one day a couple weeks ago and loved it. I have played at least 5 rounds with it now and this putter complements my putting stroke very well. It is incredibly stable and makes an awesome sound when striking the ball. I am amazed how soft the ball comes off the face and how true it rolls. I recently purchased one from another wrx'r and can't wait for it to arrive. I really think this is a great putter that everyone should at least try.

I was looking for a mallet style, face balanced putter and had heard some good things about the Futura.

I have played it for about a month, so I'm still somewhat in the honeymoon period, but i've given it a 4 out of 5 (even through the first round I played it, I made 6 birdies!)

very solid, soft feel, easy to keep the face square and online. If you can get past the non-traditional looks and are looking for a new putter, I recommend it. Very well made.

Great putter outside 20ft. Inside 5 feet is where I have trouble with my Phantom. The ball accelerates so damn fast off this putter that I feel like if I tap it I'm going to lip out every time because the ball is coming in too hot. Granted when I first bought the putter I weighed 160lbs and now I weigh 205lbs. I love the putter for low handicappers. But now with the added muscle and scores dropping I'm switching back to a blade to enhance my feel and accuracy.

I have the rare Futura Long version at 52".

The head-weight is 470 grams according to someone at the Cameron custom shop.

The shaft inserts directly behind the face in the first hole and it is essentially a straight shaft - center shafted putter.

I was struggling big-time with normal length putters. I've always had a strong game except putting where it was very common for me to average close to 2 putts per green. That's okay if you hit 18 out of 18 GIR, but everyone knows that's not going to happen and 13-14 GIR is a good day for most.

Well, before I purchased by Futura Long off fleabay, I averaged 37.67 putts per round over my previous 3 rounds... I was struggling big time and my HC was starting to move in the opposite direction than what anyone would want.

I saw the putter and took a chance and will never look back.

Over 45 holes since purchasing the putter, I am averaging 1.51 putts per green and 27.2 putts per round. An AMAZING 10 strokes better.

The confidence I have now on and around the greens is simply amazing compared to where I was a few weeks ago. It's also amazing how much clearer you can see the line when you don't have to worry about your stroke or your putter. Just read the line and the speed and hit the putt. They've been dropping from all distances for me. Also, when I miss, I usually only have a tap-in left or at worst a 2-3 footer which is basically a tap in with this putter.

I have the Futura Mid at 42" and it's a good putter as well, but no where in the ballpark of the Long version.

The only negative about this putter... it's so long that I can't put in in my trunk with my other clubs. It rides in the backseat or up front with me.

I always had problems aligning putts and with distance control. I would average 3 or 4 three-putts a round with a blade style putter. A friend of mine had the Futura and I gave it a shot. Wow! I bought one on ebay the next week.

I love the firm click off the face. Good weight and it just helps me align my putts so much better. Tried the 2-ball and liked it, but this thing is just so smooth. I have yet to find another putter like it.

Pioneering design both in terms of MOI and alignment and Scotty Cameron's answer to the original 2-ball but there have been much better since this was new.

I played a Futura right when it came out and I found it to be lacking in feel, especially on longer putts. I don't struggle with alignment so the advantages where outweighed by the lack of feel.

Have gamed mine for a season w/ 4 strips of lead tape in the cavity.

Heavier head weight keeps me from "wagging" in my backstroke.

I happen to love the mechanical look of this putter and the stroke it affords me.

Not a Scotty fan or collector, by the way.

Fascinating how cheaply you can find them on the bay.

Someone on here bought one cheap and had another WRX member restore it to custom specs. Great idea.

Definitely worth the coin.

in stock form its too light.found an aftermarket weight kit from ebay and it made all the diff. killer now.

+1

A friend who bought mine did that and the improvement was incredible... better sound and weight distribution. Too bad there's no aftermarket kit to fix how it looks.

Just got an original futura in mint condition for cheap! Love this putter and used it when I competed in high school. For the money, my favorite putter ever. Face balanced and you think it looks open and address, until you just trust it and let it work. You can get these for very little since they are ugly, but making putts looks good so solid tradeoff!
