Has anyone played The Links @ Monague. I'm going to be in the Halifax area later this month and may only have a few hours to get a 9 hole round in and this place looked good online for location to Halifax, price and layout. Any feedback out there on the course?

I hear ya DM, just had a baby 7 months ago and that's the way she goes.

Montague is supposed to be a decent course, I've heard good things. kevin Dugas teaches/plays out of there. He's only set almost every course record on the east coast and won more events then Tiger in his prime.lol

The course opened amazing last year. The greens were great until they double cut them for the Atlantic Reigonals. Didn't help that the water tower in Oromocto crapped out that same week. Was like putting in a sandbox for a few weeks.

Sadly I am in the field for the opener, all that rain sucks twice as much when you are sleeping on the ground knowing you should be on the course!

I agree about the Gage though, it is a driver wedge course from the whites, the blues are great for a different look that isn't ridiculously long.

Luckily I don't go to the field that often. Are you going back to the field on Monday? Members only on Sunday if you are. I'll be going tomorrow for rock pickers and playing in the afternoon. I can't wait!

played sussex and rockwood park, rockwood was in really good shape. sussex was still pretty muddy. games coming averaging alittle over a BOGEY so not bad considering the conditions and wind. the first few holes each time seem to be the worst till i am warmed up, gotta spend more time before my next round on the range. plan on playing again this weekend somewhere else. maybe make a few more pars this time.

Hahaha! I already made a thread about it in "general golf talk". In short, shot an 87 in fairly wet conditions and slow-as-molasses greens. Took me a while to get used to it. You almost need to tee it up and take your driver to get a 10 foot put close to the hole! My ball was plugging in the fairways. I had no range time before so I had to find my swing while on the golf course. Not ideal but I had fun (even though my round took 6 hours! Slow partners).

Hi everyone, I realize this is kind of an older thread. Has anyone been fit for clubs at golftown? I just bought some Ping clubs second hand and am looking for a fitter. There is a representative there who has been down to Phoenix and who does almost exclusively PING fits. Has anyone experienced this?
