I play J38DPC. I went to proshop buy Mizuno MP53 or MP63 and I saw this set displayed. I always liked bridgestone so I had to try it. I tried J38 side by side with Mizuno MP53 and after 4-5 shots with each club, I knew exactly what I want. Bridgestone felt smooth, and at the same time, it felt solid, where MP53 was buttery and felf, well..., buttery.
They both are great irons, I just prefer Bridgestone J38 feel for my own taste. It may have to do with the head/shaft combination; MP53 comes with S300, which is great shaft but I never liked the trajectory I create with it. My swing fits better with PX. The only complaint I have with J38 is that it hits high, but good thing is that I didn't lose any distance.
Anyway, I got J38 and I'm happier than ever. I recently game with Titleist ZB, AP2 and Taylormade R9TP, but I like J38 way better. This set will be in my bag for long long time, unless Bridgestone releases J40 in a few months.

I did the same as you Khakijean, tried Mizzy's 52, 59, 62, Tileist CB 710 & AP2, and Bridgestone J38's. The Bridgestone's just were outstanding as were the MP62's. But Price just got in the way and the custom fitting options which are straight from the factory sold me. I'm gaming DPC J40's and love them. Best purchase I have ever made golf club related.

Since there's topic for the J40's.... I started with the J40 DPC for my first set of blade style clubs and quickly upgraded to the combo set. For a mid handicap player who doesn't get to practice as much as he should, these really are fantastic. Forgiving enough for my sometimes inconsistent swing, great feel off the face, classic style / design and for the price. Can't beat it. Really liked the mizzy's in comparison but honestly, I don't see these clubs getting the boot anytime soon.
