OK OK not pizza but all this talk about Mozzarella got me thinking,

 

I present the Mozz burger, American Kobe, fresh buffalo Mozz, basil leaf and a bit of balsalmic to top it off

Just came back from a place. Wood fired. Had prosciutto di parma, slices of grana padano cheese, mozz fior de latte, and baby arugala, on top.

 

Also, had some raw oysters on the side and a couple glenlivets.

 

Hows that ; )

I'll pass on the raw oysters thank you. The rest rock on.

Went to my favorite italian restaurant the other day, it's where i also go for Pizza and my wife loves their sweet potato gnocci. We got there probably on average 1.5 times a week so i think we're their best customers haha.

 

Anyway the place was empty and the backup chef was working, dude loaded up my meat lovers pizza.

 

It was probably the best Pizza i've had in like 5 years

Checked and no new thread for couple years so lets crank one up.

 

As many toppings as you wish. Flavored crust that's fine also. And favorite pizza drink if one wishes

 

For moi I like Pepperoni, Jalapenos, and Bacon.

 

Drink varies, no real favorite.

 

Dang this place just got serious. I'm lucky enough to live within 40 miles of three of the best pizza places in the world (they've all won pizza medals too? Whatever that means).

 

Cochi House has a top rated pizza. I'd heartily (as a fat boy) recommend their 2x sausage and pepperoni. It's a ground sausage that is placed under their cheese. I've never had one hot from the oven but it's good enough it's on the fat boys bucket list.

 

The Warrior is literally a drive chip and putt from my house. Their award winning pie includes a sweet sauce and lots of sausage. This is now my go to favorite. Like the old Tiger Woods, when they are in they won't be beat.

 

The last place, and I hesitate to even mention, is Deschners. Local DT and pizza place. They had the best pie in the world until they went to chunky little suasage from ground. Yeah, it tastes the same. No, it is not as good. Nowhere close. You can't even get the ground anymore, trust me I've tried. Even offered $50.00 for them to make it. No go. First time I got a pie from then I was wigging on the price. It was $19.00 for a large one topping. I thought that it would be a one time deal. Nope! Once I arrived, I was handed a box that I needed a forklift to get to the car. I now know someone that worked there. 2# of cheese alone in a large. Another pound of sussage, yeah. Let that sink in. One pound of sausage. I'm still ticked that they changed it.

College? Oh man i used to get just basic pepperoni from this place called "double pizza". It was not good, but the price was right. I think it was like 2-3$ for a slice

But it has bacon...can go either way :D

Yeah well that's a major stretch cause bacon is not just for dessert anymore :)

One of my local shops will make for me a Sicilian pie, cheese and sauce, with a couple slices of tomato, fresh basil, and a little pile of mushrooms and chopped garlic in the middle of each square. It is unreal. I hope they name it after me.

The Thug or The Bunny? I would have to go with The Bunny.

God I love pizza! Friday night is pizza night here, all home made thin Italian style. Its got to be a plain old Margarita or my mental pizza Calzone, Chorizo, Jalapenos, tomatoes, olives, pepper, potatoes, cheese and peas :-)

 

all washed down with a lovely Spanish Red :-)

Peas very interesting. Chorizo and Jalapenos rock on. Potatoes never heard of that one, how do you use them in the pizza?

I've tried it with kobe beef, caviar, jam, you name it.

 

but what i really love is just plain jane pepperoni and tons of spicy peppers and anchovies. double serving of anchovies!

we make a Calzone - folded pizza. The potatoes are boiled first and then we load up half of the pizza with the ingredients and fold over the rest of the dough. The peas retain their moisture and the whole thing just tastes much better than it sounds. It's much more Spanish than Italian though - I'll take a photo on Friday and then post them up
