Customized Edel Putter - Versa Paint Scheme

Got bored today and decided to give my Edel a customized paint job. I always liked the Odyssey Versa paint scheme and always found it easy to line up so I painted the top line a semi-gloss white. I then painted the sight line black. I think it came out pretty well and hopefully it will hold up in the long term. Pictures didn't come out well and are a little blurry but I was in a hurry.

I've been painting the top line of my stainless Cameron for 3 seasons now due to glare. The longer you let the paint cure without putting a headcover on it, the higher chance the finish will hold up really well.

 

I've found that if I let it set for 4-5 days without placing a headcover over it, the paint cures fully and rarely chips off.

 

The 1st few times I did it, used it right away the next day or within a few days. Small spots would always chip off.

 

I've had the best results with a small aerosol can and taping off the entire putter, other than the intended area to be painted.

2 coats ... 1 quick spray in each direction (with dry time in between) to make sure both edges are covered. Zero brush lines and perfectly flat application.

What did end up happening is my brain now only sees the white and it looks like I'm putting with a 1/2" wide putter. It is super easy to align with the white, especially on short putts. Can't decide if I like that 100% yet or not. Going to get a few more rounds in to decide.
