Beautiful collection of blade putters. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks a lot DE :)

Here's another sweet blade, a 1969 8843, My brass baby, lol. I won my first Club with it in 1986. Put it away the following year and then sorta lost it, found it and was gonna have it regripped but Maddie was like "WTH," lol, cuz I already had quite a few bag ready blades, lol.

The 8843 is the Fg-59 of blade putters. As you can see in address, there ain't a lot of metal heel to toe and I really liked that both in my irons and my putter.

Anyhoo-

I'm definitely having it regripped now, lol

Have a great weekend Bro and thanks again for the kind words

My Best,

Richard

I have my fathers old beat up 8843 that dates from approximately 1980. It is the smallest putter I have ever seen. It makes the 8802 from a couple of years later I have look huge!

This one was from the 1965-69 run with 1968 and '69 being the brass model, though they reappeared in Pro shops in the late 70's however my Teacher said that no more were made, they just released old inventory that for whatever reason wasn't released in 1969ish. Pete(my Teacher) gave it to me in 1985 from his stash and I bagged it through mid 1988, having won with it in 1987 then I went back to the 8802 for my second in 1988. I subsequently "lost" it in 88-89, "found" it again when I moved in 2011, was going to have it regripped though Madison ruthlessly rode me about having all these other blades, and I "lost" it again, lol

Don't let the smile in her avatar fool ya, she's a Woman, lol ?

Like a lot of the Staff/Wilson models, these circulated through Pro shops for years and in the case of the 8802, 8813 and this model, for well over a decade, probably pushing two, though there were far less of this model out there than the 8802 and 13 due to its compact size. As I said, this putter is the Fg59 or MP-14 of putter blades, lol.

Did you use it at all?

It is small however it is rock solid and I loved the sound at impact.

Stay well my Friend,

RP

Only used it in practice. It is great but I prefer a mid 80's 8813 I have.

I really need to post a picture here in putter porn but I am not sure I have any that really fit the bill although my Mizuno Dare to Dream (solid forged and milled block - no insert) is a beauty!

Post it :) !!

Have a nice week?

I tried a few different mallets when my stroke got a little too wristy and I got mentally clusterfacked and while the original Spider was an amazing putter I just couldn't get past the design in the address position. I had won a Go Lo however it just didn't "click," and Madison suggested trying these two and outa the closet they came. The TD Z2 was the first of a series of putters that had the rolled face and striations to give the ball a quicker roll versus slide/skid. Fred Hochman was a Gent who was wayyy ahead of his time as this was the early 90's and before all of the other OEMs put striations, grooves, etc. on the putter face. I liked the roll however it was the original Zebra below that went in my bag, as roll wasn't my problem and I liked the flexibility that the removable sole and weight rings(which I ended up buying washers from Busy Beaver to add to my desired weight, lol) gave me, allowing me to fluctuate the HW from 350gr to 384gr. I gave the Go Lo away, lol.

1989 1st run production 1998 Tad Moore Tour Shorty with pure C-5 copper insert. This head was milled by Betti. I had a Scotty Tel3 and after Playing 4 rounds with the Shorty, I gave the Tel3 away. For me, it wasn't even close. Seriously, one of the most lopsided comparisons that I ever recall doing, like a box putter against the real deal, which really surprised me, and I took both out for 3-3 1/2 hour "putt-off," lol. Didn't matter.

LMAO, following Rob with pics, especially TP pics, is like following Raiders' pics or John Holmes into the shower ;) . This was their most popular example from the T.P.M. Line-up.

LMAO, I don't know if they have enough steam left to grind out 15 more, cuz Malkin's gonna have to step up though The Flower looked sharp last night. The kid goalie had his bubble burst and I don't think can get it done. HaHa, this cover was a gift and the guy asked me why I never included it in any pics, lol. It is actually a nice cover for a "team" example cuz that team blade cover(doesn't matter the league/sport) is second only to the new Staff 8802 for tackiness and cheeseyness. This one's normally on my zebra.

Have a nice day?

Though Kevin has made many exceptional putters, this is probably his most notable, as this was the model that Sergio's Mentor, JM, used to get his green jacket, however Kevin's putters were in the bags of over two dozen world wide top-tier Tour winners. This is carbon steel and yes, this putter has the "invisible" copper insert just below the putter face surface and while it is visible up close at certain angles, I've taken 6-8 pics and it does not show in a picture. Peculiar indeed, lol. I actually asked a nurse if she saw this feint outline of an oblong shape as I thought that I might be imagining things with having just had my dilaudid shortly before, and she said yes and asked if it was adhesive from a sticker that had been removed from the face, lol.

This putter was hand ground and all at this time were personally inspected by Kevin prior to heading out the door, just like Scotty did?
