Please help is my Scotty real or not.

I purchased this cameron and crown newport 2 on ebay. The seller had sold a good amount of golf equipment and had 100% positive feedback and came from USA and shipped quickly. The putter was described as may show minor signs of shop wear so was listed as used. The putter looks real good except one thing and that is on the dot on the back in the cavity closest to the toe of the putter the paint fill looks like they put too much paint in it and has pooled up around the edge looking like a circle inside the circle if that makes sense and is not real sharp around the circle like the paint was not cleaned up good. I just don't think it could leave titleist looking like that but not sure the rest of the putter looks great to me. I took it to a local shop and compared it to a regular 2016 newport 2 and everything looked good except the issue with the paint fill. I hope some of you scotty experts could help me resolve this so I can decide to keep it or send it back. Try taking a pic of the paint fill with it to the left or right of center. Folks will be able to tell you more if the "golfwrx" mark isn't right over the top of it.

Or when you upload the picture, check the little box so the Golfwrx log won't appear.

Quality control is not what it used to be. Looks to be an authentic putter to me.

I took it outside for the last pic. I think the extra circle shows up in one of the other pics better and doesn't have the wrx blocking it. thanks

Thanks for all the replys I figured you guys would be able to tell that's why I posted pics of the headcover and grip also. I guess they just did a bad job on the paint fill.

Messy or not, I really like the bombs in the cavity in white. That looks sharp.

If you get annoyed by it, put some acetone on a q tip and rub it off.

Real. Just bad quality control. Even shelling out $400 for a flat stick doesnt go without issues. Kind of sad, but that is the reality.

the guy has 100% feedback - if seller has over 100 transactions, chances are they don't sell fake items.

Could be an early run in production. Those are typically the ones that have QC issues. I once bought a Titleist car stock driver and it had issues with the screw. Did you try to reach out to the seller to ask them about the paint fill?

The only thing that seller is lying about is the condition. That thing doesn't look used at all! I don't even see any "shop wear". Most sellers I've dealt with would have listed that putter as new. If you paid a used eBay price for that putter, I'd say it's a steal.

 

I'm willing to speculate that the seller didn't even notice the paint fill issue otherwise they would have fixed it. It's super easy to remove the old paint fill and re-paint the dots on those Camerons. That's what I would have done before selling it. Much easier than paint filling small letters.
