(Can't Stop Buying Old Irons!)

What started out as a curiosity seems to have turned into a problem! I currently have a set of Titleist 962's with DG S300 shafts.

I then decide to get a set off ebay with R300 shafts and have a set of DG S300 SL shafts waiting for those.

Now I've gone and bought a set of 962b heads and am bidding on another set of 962b's with S300 shafts, will the madness stop? lol :drinks:

I know they are at least 6 year old iron sets but I love them and figure these sets should keep me going for a while!

Does anyone else here have multiple sets of old irons?

Time and the self proclaimed gotta have the latest and greatest iron Hos out there are the only things passing by these great old iron sets......

I hear ya! I picked up a set of DCI 990's this winter for $150 in almost brand new conition 2-PW with Rifle 6.0 shafts. What does a set of rifle shafts cost, $100? Great clubs. I was pretty happy to see Tom Kite win with a set of 990's just recently. Made me feel pretty good about my "old" set.

Those 962's look pretty sweet too!

This will probably seem bizarre, but I have multiple sets of the old Adams Assault VMI irons. They were introduced 12 years ago.

I saw the title and thought, "Hey, these guys are probably someone I can relate to." Old irons? 962's? Are you serious? I got issues with buying old irons! I have a set of PGA Vardon Cups, couldn't leave them in the bin for .99 a club. A set of FG-17 copies, 2-SW in good shape, same price. Oh, don't forget the Titleist Tour Models, 1990 or so vintage. .99 each, too good to pass up. My faves, though not as old, the Maruman Curtis Strange Ltd Blades. Picked this set up for $64, 3-PW and added the 2-iron courtesy of Mark Hensby. He gave an old set of them to a guy who works on his clubs and that guy put them in the "Desert Club" bin.

Now, THAT is an addiction!

I had to quit persimmon, cold turkey. It wasn't easy and I lapse from time to time, but I am taking it one day at a time. Anybody want some wood?

Yes, we are of the same cloth, but mine is older and weaker, I am afraid.

we all have issues, that why we are here. lol. we are addicted to gear, and can't get enough of it. this winter i was addicted to buying old macgregor persimmon drivers. It hit me out of the blue in December. I'd like to get another set of mp32s and just look at em'. lol. , but my wife already thinks i'm a little nuts.

OMG... it's not the hoing I'm habing problems with, I mean, if I had the money I'd do exactly the same thing but I'm only 16 and I ONLY have 2 golf bags and I just realised when I came home yesterday from overseas that I have way too much stuff already even though my amount is negligible. My problem is that I do not have any other space amongst all my other things. All the spare space in the house seems to be filled up with hoarded things. The things are not used but can be used and are perfect order, yet we don't use them and can't bear to sell them... anyway, that's enough about me. There is nothing wrong with ho'ing so kep those old clubs alive.
