I think its funny that all these negative/positive reviews are pouring in when 95% of the people here have yet to hit the club for themselves. I'll wait till March 25th then read this thread again (when the club can speak for itself).

Exactly! If they haven't hit it they have NO idea how this driver performs. Tell you what I've been a long time TM driver guy and while I'm not ready to throw my R5 TP out of the bag my intial results with my Hi Bore lead me to believe it won't be long. This driver is going to take some time to dial in for eveybody. But I will venture to say that when you do you'll be amazed. It is so low spin that its hard to hit a shot offline. Mine even with a Prolaunch (a shaft that Ireally haven't had sucess with in the past) hits high and flat. Now one of the previous posters said something like."it just balloned and fell out of the sky". Thats the point in some respects. You weren't ctreating enough spin to keep it in the air. Could be loft,shaft or a combination of the two. Your goinjg to have to go up in loft and play around with shafts (mostly hi launch/mid spin types) to get the maximium out of this club. All the guys playing 8.5 and 9.5 drivers unless you create a lot of clubhead speed of launch it really hi now are going to be shocked. Once again its not for everyone but I think its going to somewhat revolutionize how we fit for drivers. JMHO

I have hit the HiBore and about everything else. Last week was a huge demo days here and the Cleveland Tour Van had HiBores for demo. I ended up buying one. A very very close second was the Titleist 905R. It also is a very good golf club. What made the difference for me was the control function not the distance function. The HiBore is just easy to hit straight for me. Certainly won't be a club for everyone but I liked it.

In my opinion the hibore is a good driver from the limited testing I´ve done. As far as the design goes it say it´s very good, but short of revolutionary. If they would have made the face much bigger, and the breadth like a sasquatch..which they could have done without breaking the cc rule because of they´re design, then I´d be exited. It´s a good idea(weird it hasn´t been used before, very obvious IMO) that IMO could have been made to much better use.

I have not hit a HiBore yet myself. Interesting comments in this thread though! The design seems to make some sense on paper at least. It reminds me at least a little of the design of the "Hammer" driver of a few years ago. One of the guys at a ProShop I went to this afternoon says that I should be able to hit the Hibore as high with a 10.5 degree as I could with a Launcher Comp 11.5 (I went into the store thinking about getting a Launcher Comp 11.5 with a Regular stock shaft, perhaps he was just trying to talk me up to the HiBore).

 

Hopefully will get to hit a HiBore in a few days and see if it is really worth 100 bucks more than a Launcher Comp or Sasquatch and etc.

In order to maximize face size and MOI within the 460cc, the Hi-Bore is the natural evolution of driver design.

 

Whether or not it catches on is another issue. I just hope my newly purchased 905S doesn't become obsolete :drinks:
