12 step program. Excess buying is a serious mental illness. My MIL has this. When her husband past 12 years ago she had over a 500k net worth. Five years later she filed bankruptcy despite having a job that paid her WAY over comfortable living. It's a problem.

For me, yes I like golf equipment. That said I'm playing Ping eye2's, a TM R15 430, a "Jack Nicklaus" Hybrid that I NEVER use, and a Nike FW that was new 6 years ago. Stuff works for me so why change? I spend more money on balls in a season than I do for all the clubs in my bag. It's not too late. Pair down to your best set of irons, place the D and 3w you like best in the bag, and sell off the rest. Simple, really.

But if you can't do that find a program.

You gotta learn how to tell yourself no. Deals pop up all the time, and there is ALWAYS a reason to say yes. But you gotta learn to start saying no.

Tell yourself you get one golf equipment purchase per month and stick to it. If you only have one, you're not going to go out chasing butterflies every time something cool pops up.

Clubs: Ping G400 Max • Callaway 816 5w • Ping i25 3-W • Ping Rustique 50* & 58* • Betti BB1 Short Slant
Shafts: Aldila Rogue White 60x • PX 8B4 • DGTI x100 • DG s300
Balls: Titleist Pro V1 • Srixon Z Star XV

Lol thanks everyone for both laughter and actual advice. I like the idea of selling something every time I purchase something. I never had an addictive personality but do come up with petty excuses why to not get rid of some of my golf equipment. Worst part is my long term girlfriend has no issue with it at all!

That's because she's your girlfriend. Wait until she becomes your wife and you're sharing a bank account. Then it'll be a different story :)

Its tough....I had an agreement with my wife (initiated 1/20/17) that while our new home is being built I would not buy anything golf related....

I lasted about 2 months then traded a bunch of stuff in to feed the urge.....Then I lasted about 4 more weeks and bought 3 putters/grips/supplies.....All of which I did not need of course. So far in since 1/20/17 I have spent $165 on golf stuff. Feel totally guilty that I couldn't honor my agreement with the wife...At some point I need to face reality that none of this crap is going to make me a better golfer. But in all honesty it boils down to needing a hobby. It was golf, then guns, then building a car, then back to golf, and its looking like it will be back to guns in a few months.

Damnnnnnn... you are correct! I keep telling myself (and her) it's better than drugs, alcohol, hookers, etc but regardless you are right. 5 years w her and the marriage kids pressure has escalated recently. I'm in trouble.....
