Most birdies you have made without breaking par?

Talk about depressing....... Passive brag is an understatement. Still looking for my second birdies this year!!!!!!!!!!

 

And I need to read pages and pages of "Woe is me, I had 8 birdies today and shot Par" or "I had 6 and still can't break 80"....... Heck the title eliminates 99% of all golfers.

I had 6 birdies 4 bogies and a double on friday so that was fun

7 birdies. I shot 7 birdies and 4 pars on the first 11 holes. Best round of my life. 12 is a par 4 that dog legs over the water. I put 3 balls in the water to take a 9 on the hole. It went downhill from there

I am very proud of that round for three reasons:

 

1) I tried as well as I could to not get caught up in the score, and I made it all the way through #14 green. At that point, I literally couldn't help myself and I figured out that I was -4.

2) Once I realized that I was -4, I didn't freak out, but my honest first instinct was to get to -5.

3) After it had all slipped away, due to some shaky ballstriking which is perfectly normal for me, I smoked a banana-slice 5 wood, 215 yards, over/around a tree, over water, to the toughest hole location on the entire course, and put it to about 15' to give me a chance to still shoot under par. And I put a good roll on it. It didn't go in, but cest la vie.

 

Funny thing is, I still remember the putt on #14 and all the subsequent shots from there into the house. But I literally only remember 1 shot from the entire rest of the round.

Shot 74 with 7 birdies at a tournament (Cordevalle in SF Bay Area). Started and ended with 3 putt double bogeys. The last hole, I remember driving it in a trap, then going for the green b/c I wanted to break par with a birdie. Ended up needing 3 to get on and 3 jacked from a lower tier on the green. The irony of the 3 jacks, most of my birdies were from distance and I was center cupping everything. Something like an average 15' on made putts. It didn't matter where I was on the green...except those 2 holes.

 

The funny part of it was after 3 birdies, @lchang asked me what the most birdies I'd had in a round to the horror of the 4 some. Like giving me the gooch or talking about a no-hitter. Then I birdied the next hole, so he continues to ask me after every birdie to keep the streak going. It was a good day.

I've never shot under par. The best I've shot is one over, several times.

The most birdies I've had in a round is 5. Only once.

Made four birdies on the way to shooting 76 this past weekend. Played the last nine in even par 36--three birdies, three pars, three bogies.

Today on the front I had 4 birdies 3 bogeys and a double on 9 for a smooth 37 on a par 36. Ended with 5 birdies and shot 83

It's called a Humblebrag not a passive brag: make an ostensibly modest or self-deprecating statement with the actual intention of drawing attention to something of which one is proud.

 

I should know....I get super annoyed every time the media asks me how I came up with the name. (See what I did there) ;)

Yesterday's round. Five birdies, one eagle, seven bogies, five pars. Even par 72.

10. I had 10 birdies in two streaks of 5. I also had 3 doubles and four bogeys. One freaking par all day.

 

This was the same year I hit 18 GIR and shot 75.
