I dunno. I like phil and like watching him play on TV or used to. But mannnnnn the guy kinda comes off as fake .

I dunno if he is fake and that you are buying it or im just reading him wrong .

I saw him in person too and he just doesn't seem genuine and with all that insider trading business. And he made a big DEal about giving a kid with arthritis a game glove ... Ummm how about getting him medical help? Like with doctors .

He has accomplished a lot and I did like the feherty interview. So I will just remain on the fence.

 

On a side note Wells Fargo chose Billy Hurley III to present a paid for Mortgage free home to a Military Family because he served in the Navy (Billy did) . And he took time out of his week to go do this on the USS North Carolina Battleship. I think that's where it was. That was a real stand up thing to do.

I only watched Friday's round for about 1/2 hour. But managed to see him spit on the green. Disgusting way to act on tv. He looked angry all the time. Time to grow up.

Do you think Reed should have stayed with his bread and butter draw instead of the fade with his driver?

Noren's preshot routine is becoming like Sergio's past re-grip. At one point it looked like he hurt his left wrist with his laborious routine.

Eagle Point normally doesn't close for the summer but they normally don't over seed wall-to-wall with rye either. They are actually closing for the next few months to do some renovations, rebuild the greens and kill off all the rye.

 

Best stat of the week in regards to why it looked so damn good....

Augusta National uses between 400-450 lbs of rye seed per acre. Eagle Point used just between 600-625 lbs of rye per acre this year in preparation for the tournament. The design is really good but that is why everyone was making the comparison between the two courses.

I played some with Brian when he was a junior. I can't think of a single day he wasn't at the golf course. I'll never forget the day he shot the course record 63 (with a bogey on the last hole) where I worked as an assistant pro. I think he was 15 or 16 at the time. I knew he'd be going places. Very proud of him.

I've practiced with him some down at sea island. His clubs aren't shortened but pretty positive they're flatter like mine

Norén, not too unusual. He's a fierce competitor if he's there down the stretch. But his swing is not Furyk stable. If he's off his timing he's in the deep stuff a lot. And it seems to have been one of those days. Kind of the inverse Stenson in many aspects. He's much more Iceman that Henrik, but he hasn't got that swing and long play.

 

If there was a "true" foursome team match play format in like the Olympics, where each shot was up for the grabs for each of the player for take, DJ and Spieth would have to pull out their best to beat the Stenson/Norén team.

Sea Island is about an hour south of Savannah. Both are cool places though. I live on st Simons and in Wilmington

I was so glad Noren fell off the pace early so we didn't have to watch that routine all day. That thing was brutal.
