Go get fit and buy the most expensive putter around to show off to your buddies, or go get a Ping Anser, add a 10 gram brass tip weight and a new grip. No matter what anyone says they all do the same thing. If you push putts right, move the ball forward in your stance, pull 'em left, move it back. Easiest part of golf and should be the cheapest.

Feel like if you want budget you may have to go used, but you can still get a great deal where the putter still looks great.

 

Althought, i really enjoyed the Odyssey #9, its fairly cheap and works good. Cost $100 dollars new and around $60-70 lightly used.

I've literally spend thousands of dollars on trial and error. Probably bought and sold 10k worth of putters.

 

1) Find out if you are right eye or left eye dominant.

2) Find out if you have a straight back straight through or gated stroke.

3) Determine if you see the line better hunched over or standing straight up.

4) Experiment with material to determine the sound and feel you prefer

5) Determine which type of alignment aid allows you to best square the face

 

PM me the answers to these questions and your handicap and I will tell you which putter(s) work best based on your answers.

 

I use an odyssey with two strips of lead tape and a built up ping grip that cost less than $80 (and you can get Brandt Snedeker's odyssey for less than $50). Made $130 in skins last two weeks alone and he's probably won $30MM with his trusty Rossie II.

Well... not entirely. I just stumbled on this thread and am seriously considering the Black Lab #2 putter. I'll be contacting them come Monday.

Cleveland classics line is a great budget putter. Got mine for under $50 during a sale online.

What about Tour Edge? I got a HP series #4 for 20 bucks! It is a total knock off of the Odyssey mini Jailbird with a crank neck hosel! It has the versa knock off white stripes. And a white soft insert with groves that look like a knock off the Taylormade pure roll. I'm thinking about murdering it out because it was a deal. Experiment time!!!
