Honma TW737 irons

Recommended Posts

I have spent some time on their site and have been poring Wrx for confirmation but could use some help.

The TW737 V, Vn, and Vs look identical but offer different levels of workability and forgiveness according to the Honma site.

From what I've been able to ascertain the V is the base model if you will, the Vn is a little more blade-like in performance, and the Vs offers a little more forgiveness, correct?

But how is this achieved? I have never seen all three heads side by side but, like I said, the appear to be identical from the photos on their site.

Any help understanding is appreciated.

You gotta check out the "special" site! http://www.honmagolf.co.jp/en/tourworld_vizard/product/product_vn.html

At least here you'll be able to see a better array of pictures and can compare specs across all of the iron models.

If I were to purchase a set, it would for sure be the Vn's! They are incredible.

I thought Honma made all V series in 737 same loft so people can easily make combo set. I thought I read the spec sheet when it first came out.. but lofts are different now.

How do you feel about getting 4-5 Vs, 6iron V and 7-pw Vn ? Does anyone tried getting just a single stick in a combo set? Somehow it feels bit weird to me.

I agree. When looking at all 3 it's difficult to determine and see their differences.

Have brand new set of 727v....first honma set..

They definetly arent smallest cb head...they look more GI to me but are square instead of round...

I was hitting 737 v and vn in store and really liked em.....seened fairly easy to hit vs mizuno mp cbs and 727 was like half the price and looked identical

Have u had a chance to play a few rounds with the 727's ? They look sweet.

Just recently purchased the 737vn. They have Modus 3 120x, built off 38.5" 5 iron. These are the real deal. They have a solid, soft feel. Better feel than my JPX Tour 900 with same setup. They are beautiful to look at when setting up for a shot. Unfortunately they don't make a 3 iron, so the 4 iron is the longest iron in the set. Well struck balls just give you that feel that runs through your hands, up your arms and explodes in your mind...ahhhhhhhh. Damn, these are good!!!!

I have mitchell to adjust loft and lie in my golf room. When I buy irons I always check build of the sticks. These were spot on! Never have I bought sticks built this well. Every stick was perfectly cut to length! Every Club was the same swing weight! I typically take my clubs apart and re-build. I am so curious to see if these have shaft weights but I dont want to take these apart they are so good. My gut is telling me they dont have swing weights in the shafts!!

I play the 727V, and they're a slightly longer blade length than the 727Vn, gives the appearance of added forgiveness.

I'd assume that this would similarly apply towards the 737 family.

Play the 727V, 4-PW with Modus 120S, love these irons. Wish i got the 3iron too

I have a set of Ping S55, and the pings are shorter in blade length, from what i recall, the AP2 is also shorter in blade length than the 727V,

but in my opinion, in terms of top line, the 727V is thinner than the S55 and AP2

I hit the 737s today. VN€™s, V and VSs across Modus 120 S, Nippon 950, KBS Ctaper 120 and Vizard IB 105s.

Very solid feeling irons. I found the V’s the best balanced for me (5 handicap) in the Vizard IB 105 graphite shafts. Seemed relatively forgiving, but nice penetrating ball flight, medium spin. Going back to test again next week (without my wife) against TMs (770s, 790s), Vega€™s and 718 AP2s. Was impressed today as the Vs were the best irons I have hit in quite awhile.

I have the tw737V right now pretty much the same size as my previous set Callaway legacy black(stenson) maybe A bit thinner top line and thinner sole. For me its the perfect size. They are great on miss hit especially on toe hit. They felt soft but with great feed back... kinda hard to explain. A bit firmer than the legacy but not in a wrong way. the loft are a on the strong side(like every club these days...).
