Leupold GX-2i2 Rangefinder only $170 new on eBay, sold by BudgetGolf.com

Ordered 4/19. UPS label produced. Still sitting on dock. Sigh...

Finally arrived yesterday.

Question for contact/glass wearers:

I'm near sighted and wear contacts. Seems I can adjust the focus to either see the reticle or target well. Settled somewhere in between.

Did anyone else have this issue?

I noticed this also when I was adjusting it indoors. When I did the same thing outdoors on a distant object, the reticle and the target were in focus. BTW I am a myopic contact lens and spectacle wearer.

Good to hear. I'm afflicted with near sightedness as well.

Looks like this deal is ongoing.

For those of you who bought it, how are you liking the Leupold GX2i-2? A lot of people complained of problem with locking on to pin prisms, is this a big problem?

Anyone else know of any new ebay coupons to make this a better deal?

I had this problem and sent it to Leupold. Hopefully they can fix the issue. I liked it when it would work.

Mine has had no issues with the prism lock. You have to be scanning to get the audible alert. That is, button pressed, held down to scan. If you do the single push of the button, you don't get a lock. This may be a matter of confusion.

No confusion on my part....

I brought up the problem and contacted Leopold regarding no 'beep' and no 'lock indicator'. They said

it was most likely a software problem and to send it back for warranty. They said that it would take about 3 weeks to

get it back - I'll wait until the end of the season - it works very well otherwise with very good optics.

Love mine. Mostly have been playing a course without prisms so no beeps. I did shoot some flags with prisms while passing by a course one day and it beeped every time. The slope feature is great to use too.

Scan mode IMO is the easiest to use. I found it much easier to accurately lock on the flag that way. I honestly can't see how anyone could complain about this rangefinder if they use that method.

I have a complaint / concern...

I was playing with a group of friends this past weekend. A buddy of mine were literally 8 inches apart from each other in the middle of the fairway. Our second shots were uphill. I shot the flag and got a beep and a reading of 206 yards (adjusted for slope). My friend was using a Bushnell and shot it at 180 (adjusted for slope).

I hit a 6 iron playing the shot at 206. I flew the flag by 20+ yards. He hit an 8 iron and was hole high.

This happened throughout the rest of the round. His yardages were spot on while mine were too far. Is there something I am not doing right?

I'm not sure on the GX-2i2 but I have a GX-4i and there are elevation and temp settings on it that can make a big difference. Also, What was your non-slope yardage?

Looks like deal just went to $209.

Apply the code P20MEMDAY and it brings it to $167.20! =)

where exactly are you able to use that promo code? At Budgetgolf.com or ebay?

Edit: Nevermind I figured it out, was able to use the code on ebay when checking out. Thanks!

Welp, I had to send mine back in for service already. They seem responsive so hopefully I will have it back in hand soon. Here's a picture of what happened. It's not a crack (at least on the outside).

Good news is they probably have the best customer service of any manufacturer. You'll be taken care of, I'm sure.

Does this one shoot in red or black? I would prefer one that shoots in red.

Black.

Thanks. Played with a customer today who had a GX-3i2 and it was red. I really like that. Easier to see, I feel.

I had that model, and did not care for the OLED display. My rangefinders are used for golf and hunting purposes, and the red display, even on the lowest setting, was too bright in low light situations. That thing was well made though.

So tempting. I had decided to go with the tour x but that price is 120.00 cheaper than Costco. Wow! Why should I spend the extra 120.00 for the tour X?

Read the warranty / customer service reviews of the two companies. That was the deciding factor for me.

In the Bag:

  • Titleist 690MB Forged Irons 3-PW
  • TaylorMade M3 Driver with TENSEI Blue Stiff Shaft
  • TaylorMade V-Steel 15° 3-Wood
  • Titleist Spin Milled 56° and 60° Wedges
  • Scotty Cameron Newport Mil-Spec Putter

It's been about a month. I called and they said I was to receive the newer GX-2i3, but they were waiting for a shipment. Hopefully it comes soon!
