This color is terrible... Just release the head/ neck combos to retail and let the consumer spray paint the top if they really want a Red putter. Why would a company so obviously rip off a competitors product? have some decency Odyssey

 

BTW... the Spider Tour Red is popular on tour because the insert is softer than the Tour Black insert and more players prefer that feel over the firmer Tour Black insert. i don't think the color has much to do with the popularity of the head/ insert combo. Just marketing

Actually this is not true. TM does not allow anyone but DJ to play a black one. I'm susrprised more Pro's just don't go out and buy the black ones at retail and put them in play if TM is not letting them have one.

They can put whatever insert they want in the Spider. I actually think the red contrast against the greens is something some players enjoy.

That's interesting and first time I've heard that. Makes sense how red stands out more than black.

 

I like the softer insert on the red and actually think the red pops more against the green. But the explanation above makes more sense given how many pros are playing the red over black

I'm convinced Callaway / Odyssey is trolling us

 

1. Love the o-works but hate the versa color way so they give us the reverse versa - i.e. WBW

 

2. Gives us a sneak peak at the o-works black. We love it. So now they give us the red (which I think it looks awful - and I like the spider red)

 

3. Wouldn't be surprised if they end up releasing the flownecks, minus the #7 model and in red/black versa scheme
