Please provide the citation on your 99% figure, because I assure you that's patently false. Secondly, regardless of your feelings about then, a gun is a weapon, hence the violence reference.

More importantly, I wasn't trying to get into an argument about gun rights, I was merely trying to question why putters, a club designed to roll a ball, need this pseudo macho marketing. When putting, do you need a reminder of your manliness by staying down a gun themed club?

Yes, because this is America.

How exactly does the sun set?

How exactly does the posi-trac rear end on a Plymouth work!?

Isn't a putter a tool just like a firearm is a tool? I know they are tools with different purposes, but that's on how they are used.

I like Bettinardi and currently game one, but why do they need so many violence-based themes. From the 2nd amendment headcover to this Armageddon putter, I feel like someone needs to remind them that they make sports equipment for a game that requires hitting a small white ball around, not military equipment. The world is violent enough, can't there be any respite

Gun / military / macho themed products appeal to men in this country. Plain and simple. By comparison, do you think pink bear stamps on the bottom of the putter would appeal more to their customer demographic?

He does work for the DOD as well so it is more of a company theme than a violence theme. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2001-05-09/sports/0105090160_1_putters-machines-drivers

It's a putter, not an editorial ....

Nice head shape, top line reminds me of the old zebras a bit.

Interesting all the things Bettinardi does with face milling, after telling us when he first started selling putters under his own name that the honeycomb was far superior to anything else that was out there.

Thing I keep looking for is a putter which feels like my old '70's version bullseye with a 70's version balata .... I putted better then.

Maybe it was because I was a teenager back then .......

Maybe they can make a tree hugger model in left hand only and call it Prius or Coexist or something cool like that :taunt:

Maybe your comments will inspire the next "Snowflake Series". Soft edges, no markings or colors as to not offend anyone, and Bettinardi is forced to give them all away.

NEVER! Let's cherp about political themes and calling each other snowflakes on a GOLF forum about a FREAKING PUTTER.

All joking aside, the putter is not for me. I am not a fan of the topline. Too busy with all the lines and not a fan of the color. But, hey, different strokes for different folks, right? Am I right? High-five? No? Anyone? Don't leave me hangin' guys! Guys?

FYI, proceeds of the sale of this putter will go to a military charity so it's not gun themed for the hell of it.

I suppose so - ask Elin Nordegren

Instead of using ad hominem attacks, why don't you actually respond to my post in an intelligible manner

Calm down little snowflake....

Bettinardi's other company - Xcel Technologies (where the CNC milling started for him, putters are more of a big, albeit successful, hobby) has had contracts with the department of defense among other govcon deals. The respect shown for the Constitutional Amendments in their headcover is probably a reflection of their support for all things USA. I think it is more likely the Armageddon color scheme and design was a unique look than he set out to represent "violence" in putter making....

To each their own, I suppose...

Does the top line provide any functional benefits?

think they were going after the picatinny rail look but....doubt it's functional.
