Should I keep or return?

I bought the following 2 putters: Scotty Cameron Golo 7 2014 and Odyssey Milled Collection RSX #7.

 

I am keeping the RSX #7 because it is so solid, great feel and sound.

 

I like the Golo 7 too.

 

Have not used either on course yet but will play tomorrow.

 

If I like them both, should I keep them both or will one sit on the bench and I will regret buying it.

 

Do you ever buy 2 putters and like them both but just buy them because one can be a backup?

 

Sometimes I think the newer SC putters are not as good as the older models because they use inserts instead of steel so I hate to get rid of one with the type of material I feel is more solid.

 

What would you do?

Ive done this before... im sure many others WRXs have as well.

 

the only issue i found, was the doubt that it generated "would i have made that 6 footer with the other one" etc.

 

nowadays, im the most consistent ive ever been with just 1 loyal flatstick. do i ever look at the menu and wonder? sure. But my stroke is as close to textbook with the equipment i have- not bc im an amazing player but because i have repetitions on it and have gotten used to it.

So do you only have one putter now? If your putting goes south, do you just continue on since you cannot put a backup putter in place?

Instead of selling one of them, go sit on your own thumb

Regrets? No.

 

Many putters in the rotation? Yes.

 

Improved putting? Day to day.

Personally I don't like how light the RSX stuff is id stick with the Scotty

Do some extensive testing first. Don't sell it too hastily

 

Both of those will hold their value so don't rush a decision (unless you need to sell one to buy another obviously)

Keep them! Worst case scenario is that you trade or sell one of them one day because you'll need the cash for another really cool putter. Look at them as blue chip stocks.

Anyone replace the putter grip on the regular size SC Golo 7 which has a Pistolero grip.

 

Not really liking that grip which is supposed to be 84.4 grams.

 

​Can you suggest another grip around that same weight that you like especially if you have the 2014 Golo 7 putter?

Return it. You can always pick the Scotty up later. No need to have to used putters to trade in for credit.

This is sacrilege on Wrx but find and own just 1 putter (you can have a spare, exactly the same for the cupboard) and practise with it until you become a good putter.

I personally think fully committing to one putter is a great idea and more people should do it.

 

That said, I currently have 7 different makes and models lurking in my living room and another 4 or 5 in the basement.

 

3 scottys, 4 taylors, 2 pings, an odyssey, an old DAIWA, a 60's bullseye, and I'm sure a couple more if I went and looked.

 

I've got face balanced, flow neck, plumbers neck, mallet, blade, you name it. It's a freaking disaster.

 

I'm currently rotating between the TM ghost spider slant neck, the '17 scotty 5w face balanced, and the Slighter X5 custom flow neck.

The Slighter flow neck is currently in the bag.

 

The real problem is Im just not a very good putter and every time I lose confidence I decide it's the putter and I need to switch. I'm mental. I literally would be a +1or +2 if I could just putt reasonably well. I rarely have less than 30-32 putts per round.

 

Try just one if you can. It simplifies things.
