I have to wonder about the IQ level of the director of golf or whoever has set those times to allow this. It has ZERO benefit to the course, and just p1sses people off. I purposely avoid two courses in my area because of this.

I walked off a course at the turn because my group was sharing clubs and got mad when I played ready golf and putted out of turn. They insisted in the furthest out first and not putting out. It got really old and the 9 took almost 3 hours. The pro gave me a rain check for 9 but I haven't been back.

True story: when your company league partner walks out of the pro shop having rented clubs, and purchased new shoes and a sleeve of balls. To get through nine holes, I had to lend him a dozen. We almost ran out, but the final ball survived the last hole.

...you're on a 16 man golf trip, the shuttle ready to pull out at 8:00am and for an 8:30 tee time (course is 10 minutes away) and one guy, we'll call him Tim, who was up all night drinking and went for a 13-Mile run in the morning is just jogging down the driveway. Tim disappears into the house, comes out 15 minutes later and still has shaving cream on his face having just showered and shaved while 15 of us sat on the shuttle.

The thing is though, do you ever see the course not packed? People must really love the course enough to still play ut

 

There is a course in metro detroit that does 6min intervals and puts zero dollars into the operation; they operate out of a cart barn. All their profit goes towards the course. It is always in perfect condition. People always complain about the pace yet wgen ever i play it, its always packed.
