Yesterday: When you cold top the first drive on first tee PAR 5 100 yds. Then cold top the second shot 3W about 150 yds.

FYI: 3rd shot I hit a decent 3W to 40 yds and then pitched to 1ft for a PAR.

It's not how, it's how many.

You're a 0 handicapper and you get paired with 3 hacks that laugh at each other every time they hit a bad shot.

When you get paired up with the "scratch" golfer who gets annoyed when I'm having fun with my buddies.

It effects the zero playing with hacks more than it effects the hacks playing with a zero. I'm not a zero, I'm a 7. I played a nice course with buddies, who are all hacks, after 4 1/2 hrs looking for their balls in hazards and deep rough I lost interest. It took us 5 hrs to play and I'm gonna guess they donated 2 dozen balls to that course

When my first drive goes high and right and my reload goes low and left.

When I duck out of work to play early morning and get paired up with someone whose clubs, bag, shoes, towel, tees, and car are 10 years older than me.

Why in the world would you care how old somebody else's clubs, bag, shoes, towel, tees and car are? How could that possibly effect you?

You ever play with the senior center crowd on a weekday morning? The guys who don't move that fast and got nothing else to do that day? It makes for a literal long round.

You have a 9am tee time, and the course has tee time spacing so close together that they are already 30 minutes behind when you get to the first hole.

You just described every course in the Phx area.

I left my wallet at home and didn't notice until I got to the course. That was a long day.

I have to wonder about the IQ level of the director of golf or whoever has set those times to allow this. It has ZERO benefit to the course, and just p1sses people off. I purposely avoid two courses in my area because of this.

Yup. There's a course near me that has 6 different sets of tee's, and spaces tee times 8 minutes apart. You're always paired with another group if you're not in a 4-some, and the amount of tee's is confusing to all. The 8 minute tee times just destroys the whole day. I've never made it off the first tee within 10 min of my designated tee time, or shown up and NOT had the group ahead of me teeing off at my tee time, which is about as good as it gets. Yet, somehow, they don't fix it. It sucks because it's a nice public track, and is fun to play, but the experience is never that enjoyable due to the time spacing..

If the spacing isn't bad enough on it's own, the 2nd hole is a short par 5, from pretty much any tee, and no weekend warrior is going to miss the opportunity to go for the green in two from 220, no matter where he's positioned his shot off the tee. Then, after that, you have a 160 yard par 3 that's a forced carry over a pond. It's also one of those courses where walkers won't walk, because the spacing between 4-5 holes is a solid 2-3 minute cart ride.

They have some pushy marshals out there too. The ones that tell you you're behind when you're on the tee waiting for the group ahead of you to be out of PW range from the tee.

So, in short, I know it's going to be a long day if someone suggests that we play this course. The funny thing is: I'm not bothered by the guys who aren't great golfers that are slower out there, I'm bothered that they pack the course to the max and try and rush everyone along, making not great golfers anxious, decent golfers frustrated, and kills the enjoyable part of just being out on the course.

When you're about to putt a 5-footer for par on # 1 and one of the guys you're matched with tells you about his recently discovered epididymal cyst, and that "in most cases" it is nothing to worry about.

Wow.

Just wow.....

When the twosome in front of you consists of two guys, one around 45 and the other around 30, playing the senior tees and waiting for every green to clear in front of them, except on the par 5's. Good thing is they found several fairways, just never the hole they were playing so that's a plus? One guy did stripe his drive on 18 from 320 out and posed until the ball stopped rolling then proceeded to go nuts because he didn't get to the green. Said he didn't get the right bounce. Should have joined up with them but I can't handle someone believing they're Dustin Johnson when they're more like Charles Barkley. Never know what you're going to see out there!

When you show up for a scramble, any scramble.

Yup, this x 1000.

I think the slowest one was just over 7 hours. By the end of it I just wanted it to be over. It wasn't golf any longer. It was more like a hostage situation.

When the foursome of old ladies in front of you yells "CARTY!!!" (cart-tee) when they finally hit a ball far enough to not have to walk too it, and get to ride in the cart.
