Phil is becoming Obee and is transitioning to hybrids up to a 7H.

I would bag this in a heart beat. Course I play a lot has rough that's over shoe height, and it's super hard to dig it out with a wood or even normal sized hybrid. Something smaller with that sole would be awesome to really hit down and muscle it out.

Didn't Phil have a Callaway prototype hybrid like this in his bag a couple years ago?

Exactly my thoughts when I saw it.

 

Really looks like its built for a US Open. Given he usually has been bagging the Anser around 17*, you figure this is built for those extra long par 4's when the driver gets a little wild.

He was maibly usibg that anser hybrid when he was usibg tge frankenwood, so he needed something to hit high shots into par 5s

There was also in old CAD drawing from back in the day that was posted online. This prototype design shaped the original X-Hot Pro hybrid.

 

 

 

I think it's pretty interesting that Phil is listed on the patent for this club.
