John Feinstein is an idiot

I just take one look at him and his smug attitude and know he couldn't swing a club to save his life (same with that Damon Hack).

He should not be on TV, let alone on golf TV, but he has his credentials to give him those sorts of passes. The guy looks like a 50 'capper.

I heard Joe Buck has a mid-90s fastball, plus curve and change up, and good pitch selection - also top quartile first to third speed.

Oh, that doesn't matter?

Weird - seems to matter for golf commentary...

Feinstein has no ground to be commenting on golf.

Seriously, what is it? Oh, he has none. Thank you.

Who qualifies, in your opinion?

Not that bag of s***!I'm more qualified to talk golf than Feinstein.

Joe you sound a little full of yourself. But don't we all.

Joe Buck has been around baseball since the day he was born... jack buck his father broadcast games for what 70 years? Is in the hall of fame.... should joe buck be doing golf... eh... but he has more announcing experience than anyone around. Damon hack i think has a $99 PGA tour superstore membership

Yes, announcing experience...and feistein has no journalism experience, and thusly he isn't qualified, is that he argument?

Just always kills me that in golf there is this weird expectation that the people talking about must be good players. Looks like a 50 capper homeboy said - what does that even mean?

I don't like Feinstein either, but he's a qualified journalist who has been at this for a while. The prerequisite for his job is being a good observer who comes up with clever and interesting things to say about the event. I don't like what he has to say, but he does achieve that.

Seems like we should be able to leave it at that and go back to bashing his stupid opinions.

He is a journalist on many sports. He loves golf, and more importantly he can speak the king's English better than all of us.

I don't listen or read anything by feinstein (well, I did read a book of his - forget which one), but he is without a doubt qualified to practice his trade.

You can hate the guys work and still recognize he's good at it, no?

Edit: to me it's akin to how I feel about art hills - guy is obviously an esteemed architect and successful - I can't say that he's not qualified to do what he's doing. But I HATE his courses. Have never played one I liked.

I don't even hate the guy's work, tales from q school was a good read!

I just can't stand the guy when he's yapping on tv. He's qualified to be there, but I can't stand him.

Look these guys go ask a few questions and then turn it into a melting pot of big words to make them sound intelligent. I love reading Pat Conroy and I'm a bit of a vocabulary nut. Mr. Conroy uses tons of words that I don't see the average guy/gal getting through the book w/o a dictionary.

Feinstein said years ago because TW did not invite media to his coming out with the truth party they would all go after him from then on. He looks as if he would write best about cuisine?!

live as men, not as ostriches, nor
as dogs in the manger." FDR

Feinstein is very smug, but he knows golf journalism. I can take him in small doses on TV and I actually like his Sirius XM radio show. Someone's gotta fill time on TV though.

Feinstein is a clown.

Im not a Tiger fan but Feinstein always harbors ill will towards him, guess he's mad Tiger wouldn't let him write a book with him.

Pulls the same contemptuous crap on Jordan and Dean Smith ( then patronized Smith when his health failed) but worships bitter chippy word not allowed like Krycheski or whatever that cheating fraud coach at Duke name is.

Feiny is a non athletic nerd that couldn't break 300 ... So that is why he writes books on duds like Guydos and bitches about Tiger

Btw didn't Dan Jenkins die 25 years ago ?

I like rosaforte, plus he's a well dressed chap so big ups for that.

Kind of another reason why I hate him haha. Definitely seems like the type who doesnt have your back and thinks he's better than everyone. Probably because he was bald at about 18 and teased.

I'm friends with the Feinstein family and John is awesome. I could have a conversation with him for hours. The entire family is full of golf lovers and great people. Really sad to see what has been said about him on here.

My parents taught me a lesson that went something like this..Defending a man you've never met just makes you look silly but judging a man you've never met makes you look like an idiot
