Am I being petty, or am I right?

The finish on this putter doesn't go all the way to the top of the plumbers neck, seems a little sloppy. It's an expensive putter, am I wrong in asking for a better job?

That's probably where they held it to apply the finish. Stainless? Probably Caswells blackener. You could apply some yourself.

 

Guess it depends if it's a wall hanger or you plan on using it. I'm a bad source for wall hanger advice and believe some flaws on a putter give it character.

It wouldn't bother me but if it bothers you I would reach out to them and see what options you have.

Get it fixed or you'll blame it for every missed putt. It's your money, I'd at least ask what they can do. Good luck.

Have you checked other putters of the same model?im willing to bet that they all have the same finish and I highly doubt bettinardi will do anything to fix the putter. From what I've see, their putters aren't "fullly" finished or finished to perfection. I notice a lot of areas where there are milling marks. Some times on the neck and I've seen it in the cavity. I guess it adds uniqueness to the putter. If it bothers you I would turn to Scotty cameron.

Stopped into 2nd swing and like always, great customer service. They ordered me a new one no problem.

 

Looking at the other putters there, my guess is that that is the spot that holds the putter head while it's getting finished, they then go back and bush that spot once the head is dry. That last step got missed with this one.

I don't blame you one bit honestly. If I drop $300+ on something new it should come pristine and if I ding it up over the course of me using it then thats fine. I get to be the one that determines the putter's war wounds, not the other way around.
