HZRDUS Black vs Red - Hybrid - Feedback wanted!!

Hey guys,

 

Looking for some feedback from those you who have hit both the Red and the Black in a hybrid. I know Proj. X like to say that they are very similar in construction with he Red have a little more active tip but I wanted to hear it from those who have the experience.

 

Little back ground - Ive gammed the Black in a driver and really like the feel and playing characteristics of the shaft. I recently moved to a 16.5-17deg hybrid and am loving the concept, just trying to dial in the exact shaft to provide the results I'm looking for. Currently have the Matrix Hm3 105X and I like it, so it's a good fall back plan. I'd ideally be looking for the 105g version of the HZRDUS line (good luck finding one, I know lol).

 

I like the idea of the red, to provide just a little more feel but I DON'T want it to feel loose and or unstable.

My understanding is the red hybrid shaft was tour issued only at this point. Not many have hit one. With that being said, I love the red in my 3wood.

I have a red 105 uncut that I haven't built yet.

 

It's supposed to launch like a blueboard with the hzrdus feel. For me the black was too low but I am really shallow and a lower spin player.

So I hit the red 105 today a few times. The best way I can describe it is the black is like kbs ctaper, very stiff in the butt and kind of harsh. The red has noticeably better feel, softer butt almost like dynamic gold. The red was 108g uncut. It has a very low balance point. I need to get a lighter weight as my swing weight was d8 with the std red titleist weight, which is a bit high for what I like. Other than that it is a great shaft, just point and shoot.
