Things that bug me while watching pro golf.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching the pros play golf, majors as well as the more obscure events on the Euro tour however there are a few things that bug me, here's a couple to get started..

Watching Jim Furyk make a load of shadow swings after he hits a bad shot or putt. Not sure why this annoys me so much but it really does!

Patrick Reeds trousers (pants). Think this is fair enough to be fair.

When announcers say hitting a certain shot or a certain putt takes courage. Hitting a golf ball doesn't require bravery.

That's done in all sports, "It's takes a lot of courage to throw a fast ball to...", "Gutsy move by that QB to throw into coverage". It's all relative.

I am more annoyed by his fat fingers than by his pants :sorry:

Charlie Hoffman

The post shot neck tilt move, and those dental implants.

And, iron your darn shirt.

Ferguson, you sound like my wife. She is no fan of Charlie for similar reasons to what you mention. I kind of like him in spite of his quirks. And I love his golf swing.

Your wife sounds very insightful and intelligent.

Charlie should clean up his act. He looks representative of his sponsor, Waste Management - a garbage man.

Announcers that over do it trying to help "build suspense" when a tournament is getting down to the end.

Too much watching players line up putts.

Any sidebar story about the inspiration behind the building of any golf course.

Not enough bad shots shown....it makes me feel better when I see a pro shank one or make a disaster of an easy hole.

The never-ending pieces on Jack and Arnie. Give it a rest. They were great golfers but enough already, that was more than 30 years ago, yet there is always some piece about them or another set of awards they're receiving. We're trying to grow the game with younger folks, not maintain a death grip on a time when frankly golf wasn't a very approachable game for a lot of individuals.

All that being said, on the flip side, I think announcers infatuation Fowler isn't productive either. Listening to middle aged men gushing about him is borderline weird. Loved the piece during US Open coverage with SI writers that focused solely on how everybody thinks Fowler is cool and he's the most popular player on tour.

I found the gushing about Koepka's strong "Arnold Palmer" arms a little disturbing as well.

Lotta homoeroticsm coming from the booth lately. And none of these guys are "jacked" in the truest sense,

compared to other sports.

Can't fault her for one bad decision.

How often a lie or a shot is near impossible to get anywhere near the hole, which ends up right next to the hole. Sure it was difficult, but impossible?!

Jason "All" Day's pre shot routine............. ENOUGH already!

But that eye flutter! /sarcasm

I'm getting bored of listening to hearing about Phil's great short game or shotmaking from the crap. Yes, he's really, really good at those shots, but when you don't hit fairways or greens you tend to get pretty good at them over a professional career. This is true for all players, but it tends to be a lot more focused on Phil.

For the record, I don't dislike Phil.

Nantz.

Days pre shot routine.

Speith whining.

Greller crouching down behind Speith every time he reads a putt.

Justin Thomas screwed up mongol face when he hits a bad shot and the adolescent tantrums that follow.

Trying to make every win some kind of heroic tale because something bad or difficult happened to the winner at some stage in his life eg. guy being in the navy or airforce or whatever, lost tour card, had an injury, smoked a joint, wife's a booze hound, has daddy issues. Don't care.

Showing so many putts (show the long ones if they make it the only time I wana see a 4ft putt is Sunday when I have money of the guy)

Ian Baker-Finch and his pick of Aussies to win everything. He gives us a look at John Senden putting for triple on 16 Sunday to move into a tie for 45th like it means the world.

Jimmy Roberts or any other self important gasbag that does "essays" on air

Jim Nantz

The Konica Minolta BizHub swingvision camera

Matt Ginella acting like he is an expert in whatever field he interviews a guy in: junior golf, architecture, travel, rain gear, etc. If he does a segment on it he is a know it all for about 3 weeks after.

Commercials on cbs.

Dottie Pepper saying green complex and bunker complex on every hole. Also "syringing" the greens is a stupid phrase when they simply are watering with a hose.

Ken Schofield's genuine distaste for any American player. He will pick 10 Europeans that aren't even in the field before picking an American player.

This is weird but I hate when he holds his follow through with an iron and his little Vardon overlap pinky stand out. Just bugs me

Every time they show Paul Casey they talk about how big his forearms are. Who gives a crap and they're actually not that big

The only thing that really bugs me with golf on TV is when there are 3 balls 4 feet away and they show the putts, but don't even recap or show the 200 yard shot the guy hit to put it there.

He's 6 outside the lead so obviously fans don't want to see spectacular shots. We will just show the leader make a 2 foot par putt instead.
