Gary McCord - "How good is that?"

I don't know Gary, I'm sitting on my couch while you're being paid to commentate. Either tell me how good it is or shut your freakin' pie-hole for 5 seconds.

Shot tracer as a substitute for decent cameramen who can follow the flight of a ball ...

Shot tracer showing shots curving miles into the rough, cut to footage showing the ball landing on the fairway .... :)

The absence of any meaningful rough ...

No cameraman in the world can follow a ball from a wide angle from behind a tee shot. Not sure you understand how cameras/lenses work.

Adam Scott's look of surprise and disbelief every time he misses a 4-footer.

Thought I was the only one tired of that!! Like Adam but come on man.

Especially because no one is in shock that he stinks at putting lol

When a pro hits a shot under a tree branch (usually on 18 sawgrass) and johnny is shocked and amazed. A tour pro should be able to hit a ball low if I can.

I agree the "we" thing while a good intention it still sounds stupid.

Well the first problem is it's not 2000 and tiger isn't playing..

Now that we admitted the primary problem, I think the camera work is bad / lazy.

Check out this video from 2005 at doral. Long distance cameras filming shots from blimps completely trump (no pun intended) protracer shots. You can see the actual ball flight from behind the player, and the ground it's flying over.

And yes, Patrick Reeds Pants!! Geez someone needs to get that guy some taylored clothing.

Showing too many putts... show more shots.

Other than that, just watch golf on mute, and play some music

Anyone who says anything like "we hit 6 iron into 12 today".

There's no "we", it's just you, your caddy just lugs the bag and tries to stay sober enough to show up the next morning.

If I was Spieth's or Fowler's caddie, I would be so like "We just shot six under. We gonna go bang our girlfriend now?"

That would probably put an end to it. Stupid.

Johnny Miller's solution (via riveting commentary) to any poor lie.........................

"Folks, look at what he's got. He has to keep it low and go around this tree. It's almost impossible to get it close. His best chance to get near the green would be a trap draw. We'll have to see if he can pull it off."

"Ah, just like I thought, he tried to play it high - what an idiot. I'll bet his grandmother hates him now."

Back at you ... watch the camera work at The Open Championship ;-)

<Edit> actually, I just saw you said from behind a tee shot ... the good camera work is from elsewhere but definitely following the flight of the ball ... and much superior to relying on shot tracer technology, which was the point of my original statement :)

Charlie Hoffman

The post shot neck tilt move, and those dental implants.

And, iron your darn shirt.

Ferguson, you sound like my wife. She is no fan of Charlie for similar reasons to what you mention. I kind of like him in spite of his quirks. And I love his golf swing.

Your wife sounds very insightful and intelligent.

Charlie should clean up his act. He looks representative of his sponsor, Waste Management - a garbage man.

NOOOOO!!!! then he'd look just like all those other players. Just another guy in fancy clothes that cost too much. I like Hoffman specifically BECAUSE he dresses like a guy who might play in my group. He doesn't PLAY like a guy who might play in my group, but he sort of looks that way.

FORE RIGHT!!!!

If Hoffman wants to BE A WINNER, he needs to dress for success, see a dentist and stop shopping at Lids. Maybe stop by the tanning booth and get a tan, take some "general purpose" antibiotics. He looks ill.

There is no "unforced error" in golf. What a stupid statement.

Commentators evaluating golf shots and covering play from a blacked out booth, watching the coverage on TV, just as we do, and telling us what we have seen.

Chunk and run - baby cut, baby draw, really.

Just a minute ago a ruling when a placed ball rolled back into the hazard, the comments between the player and the referee were drowned out by background music.

Any player acting like their family was just murdered for hitting a shot 20 feet from the pin. i.e. Hideki Matsuyama, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas.

Day closing his eye's to envision his next shot.

Johnny Miller

When announcers talk about a golfer's past and all they have overcome.

Any interview with Spieth or Adam Scott.

Pudgy European Tour players wearing J. Lindeberg in a size Smedium. You think that clothing company would understand that does not help sales.

Waiting for David Duval to collect his thoughts.

Frank Nobilo's endless boxing references.

Billy Horschel and Bubba Watson in general.

Honorable Mention:

The Morning Drive cast the past 3-5 years. Charlie Rymer you're not funny, stop acting like you're five. Paige you have horrible insight delivered with a lisp and everytime you are on the putting green you miss. The one new guy- fix your teeth and dye your hair one color. That grey spot looks horrible. Chris stop talking about how Tiger spanked you back in the day. It's over.

just looking at the leader board in your typical LPGA event.

I maybe the only one the loves shot tracer; pre ST-tech it appeared to me like they just about shanked every tee shot yet somehow was always perfect. I never understood how every once in a while you actually had a camera angle that could follow a tee shot then it would go away for another 25 holes.
