..along with mumbling which is the majority. new age rap is trash but i get what you mean. some think the word is racist under certain terms yet it's yelled in music all the time.

The original meaning of the N Word had a connotation to the GODS.

N-G-R (Egyptian) means GOD

Negus (Ehiopian) means Emperor

 

The word was first corrupted by the Romans and it went downhill from there. WAY WAY downhill.

 

I say all that to say there are variations of that word and young Mr Ball was not using the racist version.

Sure it helped the rockets. In much the same way signing KD meant okc would be out of the playoff picture as a serious contender, you can say the clips went from a potential 3-4 seed to basically out of the playoff picture entirely because the rockets took CP3 away

Chris Paul is generally considered a top 10 player in the NBA, Zach Lowe (arguably the best basketball writer in the US) also called him a better defensive player then Patrick Beverley.

 

I was there last year saying Durant wouldn't make the Warriors THAT much better since they won 73 games with Barnes/Bogut and they sacrificed depth yada yada. I was 100% wrong

 

When you add a legit top 10 player who is also a 2-way player, it's hard for your team to get worse. I know they need to sort out ball dominance issues, but Chris Paul plays like 30 minutes a game and D'antoni is not stubborn like Scotty Brooks here. He'll stagger minutes and Harden will still get 18 minutes to dribble for 20 seconds and then rake someone's arm.

 

Barring injury it would be a shock if the Rockets weren't significantly better.

 

I mentioned in the other thread but the Rockets have their midlevel exception so don't worry about depth. They have 7 decent players now and will add another quality vet for the 8M midlevel

I think the most interesting thing for the draft for me, is if the Celtics sign Hayward and then trade for Paul George using the pick they got from Philly (aswell as others, like Crowder and Smart maybe). That's the one thing that i would think makes me understand what they did. Because then they could get George without giving up the Brooklyn pick which is very valuable

 

If that doesn't happen i think they got too cute. They had a potential superstar staring them in the face and let a team in their conference have him. Tatum was anywhere from 3-9 on draft boards, he's very Jabari Parker like, i'm just not sure he's a super-star. An Allstar? Maybe. But an elite 2-way wing i don't know.

 

I just can't believe they had the top pick in a loaded draft, and traded down to get a guy whose high end comparison is Paul Pierce. When the #1 pick is a guy who except for losing a lot of games is essentially a near-perfect prospect considered to be one of the top 3-4 number one picks of the last 15 years

Except for losing a lot is a pretty big statement. LeBron as a college freshman could have carried me and you in starting line up to sweet 16 minimum

 

Being unable to win 10 games when you're such a "perfect prospect" is a little mind boggling to me.

Boston should have drafted Flutz, traded for Butler, and tried to sign Hayward. I think getting Butler for two years for what Minnesota gave up is a better play than risking the trade for George. Once Boston was comfortable with Flutz they could have traded IT since he is about to be overpaid. Boston has a ton of assets, it seems like they are waiting for Westbrook or AD to be available which may never happen.

Though like i said if they use the Sixers pick to get George and the Nets pick next year ends up at like #2 or something, i'm sure he'll be forgiving.

 

Well, unless Fultz becomes a better defending James Harden and they lose to the Sixers every year (Though Embiid would have to be healthy for that)

Issue is despite how lackluster the Wolves package seemed, the Celtics couldn't have topped it without trading down. The Nets pick should be untouchable since they will probably suck again next year (they just traded Brook Lopez too). Jaylen Brown is also untouchable. So they could only offer their own pick, plus maybe Marcus Smart and Crowder.

 

I think the Wolves package is better than that to be honest

Cleveland should go after Blake Griffin and try to trade Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love (multi team) for Paul George. LeBron, Kyrie, Blake, and PG13 could beat GS. Offer him a 1 year deal with a second year option. If the team wins it all there is a good chance they can resign all of them to another short contract and do it again.

They have no choice, if you have Westbrook, harden, lebron, Kawhi you have to try because they will leave otherwise. And the whole point of the league is getting guys like that, so if you have them you have to try.

 

Daryl morey would never pay a 37yr old 40m...but he has to because he has harden

Lowe reported that they asked Boston for the nets and sixers pick. Which seems very greedy.... Than they take this package, which seems underwhelming

 

Do people just hate Danny Ainge?
