So...this is my bag. How awful is it and what can I do to improve it?

i already got tons of help re: wedges and just ordered a new-to-me 54* and 58* Cleveland RTX 2.0 - the 54* to replace that R7 SW in my bag.

i am thinking up next might be looking into a slightly new driver. no idea how old that Burner might be, but i have never been a huge fan.

the irons, i have to say, seem decent for me. though i am not sold i am truly a blue dot - maybe closer to black in reality.

anyway, thoughts?

Seems like you're missing a few clubs in there lol. The clubs in there seem fine. I'd pick up a fewer more wedges if I were you though. Can't fake the funk with the scoring clubs.

Nice bag! The new Clevelands will set it off nicely. The only 'problem' I can see with the set up (as in it would be for me but may not be for you) is the lack of a G15 PW. This leaves a 10 degree gap between your 9 and your 50. I would be wanting a 45 degree club of some sort to split the difference.

Your driver is fine, but if you are not comfortable with it you might be better off changing it. I have always found Ping drivers to be out in front in terms of quality and forgiveness. I use the G15, but I think any of the G series drivers would serve you well.

Enjoy putting your bag together! It's a fun journey.

Completely agree with MM, you need something between your 9 iron and 50 that's too big a gap.

The lie angle of pings can be adjusted so get them checked. Look at your divots, are they deeper or longer at any point. The rest of your bag looks solid.

That's a solid bag, including the driver. That said, driver would be next if that was my setup (well, maybe the putter since I'm not a fan of that extremely popular 2-ball).

Awful set/bag. You need to spend at least $3000 immediately to upgrade.

I wouldn't bat an eyelid if you turned up at my club with that bag of clubs. Very common setup. Not all golfers are WRXers who upgrade to the latest and greatest every season. ?

So, no one's noticed that this thread is from 2 years ago? If this guy stuck around here, he's probably been through dozens of clubs since this post.

o:) It feels good to give good advice.

Additional benefits:

Sharpens our own understanding of bag composition as we write review and think about the topic

Adds depth/perspective to the answers.

Searches will find more good answers grouped together.

Someone currently formulating same query can find answers w/o starting a thread.

Prevents those who have well answered the question opening up the same exact topic next week with a more enticing tag line.

#No shame in the bump.
