I would like to see a set of dinged up t7 wedges because mine after half a year look brand new with a few dings. My J15s look like they were thrown in a dryer. Boron doesn't affect the softness? Sure.

The boron WAS added to the T7's to add durability to the grooves so consumers could have a forged wedge that would last a little longer. More of the feel aspect comes from the sound and design, which is why Mizuno focuses so much on acoustics in the MP line. I didn't like the 25's b/c I thought the super thin face, not boron, made them clicky, similar sound to the multi material MP's (58/59/15). There is only a fraction of a percent of boron. Played Mizuno MP's for over 10 years. Haven't hit the T7's b/c I'm still playing T5's, I don't go though wedges often. 900 Tour and MP-5 are same material, but b/c of the design I thought they felt different, not bad, just different.

I own the following Mizuno wedges: MP Series, MP-R12, MP-R4, T5, and now T7. Anyone who says that the addition of Boron to the T7 dramatically changes the feel is suffering from delusion. I guarantee that in a blind test that almost no one would be able to determine which wedge was the T7 with boron.

I for one appreciate the addition of the boron to keep the T7 grooves sharper longer. If Mizuno hadn't come out with the MP-25 series first (with the addition of boron) then I don't think the poor reputation of this technology would have accompanied it. Everyone equated the feel of the MP-25 design with the addition of the boron when the feel was due to the design.

I also played the 25s and loved them. I dont really understand the complains about the feel. I now play the JPX900 tours and love them thanks to the thinner sole and turf interaction.

I could still play either and be happy

Dang those 900 Tours are sexy! What was your take on forgiveness between the 2? I'm finding the 25's to be pretty forgiving for there size. More than the 15's I was playing before.

The 25's are more forgiving I will admit that, but for me I find the short irons in the 900 Tours to be a bit easier to hit out of thinker lies because of the smaller head size. Both sets are great but for me I like the 900 tours just a bit more. Also I made the move to the LZ steel shafts and couldnt be happier. NOT that the AMT's werent good - they work wonders in the 25's but for me the LZ was a better combo in the 900T's.

Now it will be interesting to see how the SC's compare because I'm sensing a combo set in my future

There is a set of heads up on eBay now for a reasonable price.. look pretty good!

Set with Tour Issue X-100s as well. Not a bad price considering retail of JPX 900s is $1,199 without Tour Issue shafts...

These SC's really closely resemble the Bridgestone J38 cavity back with the magnesium composite in the sole. I mean really close, not that it's a bad thing...link:

No kidding! This has my hopeful that the MB version won't be too far off in price?

Why do people still try keep calling a CB a blade. If it's got a cavity it's not a blade. Blades are solid, no cut out of the back. I'm will to bet SC stands for ......... drum roll please Split Cavity. Now if it has those little slots or cut outs in the muscle or bottom back side its called Pocket cavity i.e.... the MP-52.

PS: before anyone has a fit, I'm just busting some golf balls, please don't get all upset because the typed word may offend you. :stop: :taunt: :swoon:

I'm just trying to clarify that Blades look like this :

By the way the MP-18 SC looks pretty decent from what I can see here.

I know it is splitting hairs, but the MP-4 is more of a muscle back than a blade... The 33 or 37 would be a blade.

I've been in the golf business for almost 20 years and have been playing for 40 and have to admit...this is the first time I have heard anyone make a distinction between a blade and a muscle back!

Let me just countersignal and say I wish these were made with boron.

It greatly enhances durability, and I'm willing to bet 99% of people couldn't tell the difference between the same heads made with and without boron.

Wrong IMHO. Ask anyone who owns the JPX 900 Tours. I'm a major club hoe and have had roughly 14+ sets of Mizuno irons. The MP 25's were not soft like the rest and very harsh feeling at best. The JPX 850's felt slightly better but I could still tell a difference. Best LH MP for feel were 68's. Its a shame cause the MP-25 were the best looking and was the first set to trend towards a smaller PW. Currently playing 716 4,5 CB and 6-PW MB. The MB's feel great and the CB's just OK. So I guess the design of the club factors into feel as well.
