Introduced in late 2002, the i3+ Series

 

improved on the top selling i3 Series iron. Like the model it succeeded, the i3+ Series was available in two different models—the i3+, and the slightly smaller i3+ Blade. Key differences between the i3+ Series and the i3 Series included:

 

* A 15% larger Custom Tuning Port (CTP) in the cavity that increased the perimeter weighting for added forgiveness

* A larger Notched Hosel for an easier transition through the grass

* Redesigned leading edge and bounce geometry which lowered the face surface for more consistent ball contact and improved playability from a wide range of lies and conditions

 

The slightly larger i3+ model is for players needing forgiveness and consistency, while the i3+ Blade model appeals for players who seek the classic look and feel of a club with less offset and a smaller head.

i have the i3+ for over a year now...love them. most golfers including myself who are 4s or above should gravitate toward these. not wicked oversized, maximum forgiveness, and a great topline. of course i have played forged ...however, playing at a 4, im just not good enough for forged..

I still play the i3 Blades. I have played the i3+ series clubs a couple times. Great set of Irons

I play the i3 blades, solid club. gives me a little higher ball flight, which I need because I have a lower than average flight. Forgiving on off centre hits, but workable when you need it.

IMO, they're great for me playing in Canada; after 6 months off, they're forgiving and helpful when i'm trying to shake off the rust, but are really responsive in June, July and August when I'm feeling the flow and trying to post some good scores.

I've been playing I-3 blades for about 10 years. I try clubs from time to time in shops, but have never felt like any set of clubs I have tried was better enough to change.

Had mine for quite some time and are by far one of the best sets ever... It's hard to believe all the forged vs. cast drama/stigma, which PING always gets thrown into. Simple... these perform and feel extraordinary.

I am getting better and want to try a lower flight club, thats why I put on the x-100 due to my swing speed and to keep my ball lower...Didnt help me...so im leaning twoards the 695 cb's because they are 2* stronger, thus a lower ball flight with extra yardage....Thanks for looking.

i3 irons by PING still some of the best mid capper irons made and the design is what 10 years old!

Love them.

Demo'd a set or I 10's they are more of a pure clubhead than the I3's

I am converting after 6 rounds with them.

As close to a slam dunk no brainer as you can get, keep in mind you'll have more $$ tied up in grips than the clubs when time comes to change them....
