Preferred Grip for you fine ladies and gentlemen

Recommended Posts

Trying to dial in grips for a new set of Titleist MBs 3-PW (with a 2 Iron T-MB). Obviously want to keep it official with the Tour Velvets, but have concerns about durability.

Just wanted to get a feel for what everyone else uses from a grip standpoint, as I want to make the right decision and only do this once lol.

Thank you for any insight!

Iomic. 1.8s or 2.3s. If you care about durability these things are amazing. Give them a soap and towel rub dry occasionally and they feel new for years. I have a few that are over 5 years old and feel new when cleaned.

Golf Pride New Decade, midsize, logos down. My hands sweat a lot starting with 65 degree weather so I like the cord. I want to focus on the clubhead for aligning my hands, not the grip. I replace the grips on the clubs I hit a lot at the range - sand wedge, 7 iron, hybrids and driver - every 6-9 months. Otherwise I replace them every other year or so, whenever I notice they're getting hard or slick.

I recently replaced all my woods & iron grips with midsized Lamkin CROSSLINE ACE grips. I really like them and the price was right for 16 grips, since they were closing them out. I still have two spares, just in case I find another club to add to the bag.

+1, just order 12 to regrip some clubs. great deal and they really are a nice grip. have some new decades on rocketbladez I just bought. they are pretty nice as well but I'm not paying $10 a grip when there are better ones available at a much more reasonable price.

Winn Dri-Tac here too. Feel is soft yet tacky...no slip in wet conditions, and clean up is easy. The only down side i have found is they are not going

to last several years if you play often. They sure made a difference in feel for my achy wrists !

I've been using Lamkin Utx for a couple of years, but it seems they changed the compound an they don't feel quite the same now. Firmer than before.

Trying GP G2 wraps for a bit, but not sure about them yet, a little too muted feedback.

I like the MCC's but 10$ a grip is ridiculous.

At that price, I'd rather spend more and go leather from best grips...

I have GP Tour Wrap 2G Midsize in my wedges

Winn DriTac standards in my irons

and GP CP2 Pro standards in my woods

All are tacky and good in the wet, the midsize for my wedges is really about forcing me to go soft with my hands

Winn Midsize pistol for the putter.

I've been using the standard MCC +4's since they came out but have recently gone back the the regular MCC. I add 3 wraps of buildup tape rather than going to the midsize because I don't like the feel of the large butt. I still have the +4 on my Driver and FW's but I think I swing it a little bit free-er with the regular MCC. I had used Z-Cord/Cord for most of my life but they're getting to hard for me in my old age. I've got too many sore spots on my hands and joints that pop up spontaneously now. I'm nursing myself into the "house" these days, hoping to get another ten years in.

Lamkin UTX wrap in irons / wedges. MCC +4 in Woods. UTX wrap remains sticky for a long time with periodic cleaning and holds up great in Florida humidity. Black maintains grip longer than blue to me and both have cords. Lamkin regularly puts huge discounts on these.

I did buy 14 best grips last summer. Played for two months with them. They’re basically the same size as MCC +4. They’re soft without being spongy like a Dri Tech. I could spend two hours at range without my hands getting beat up at all. And a quick swipe with a damp towel brings awesome texture. By far best grips I’ve used in rain and humidity but I just ultimately didn’t like the bigger grip feeling in my irons.

Lamkin has a “players cord” that i’ve discovered. Available in 4 flavors:

1. Standard round

2. Standard rib

3. +4 type in round

4. +4 type in rib

Just bought some of the +4 round for some wedges and thinking these might be my new go to cord grips.
