GolfWRX is live this week from the 2017 RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario. The course, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus in 1976, will play as 7,253-yard par-72 for the event.

Dustin Johnson, the No. 1-ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings, headlines the field that also includes notables Kevin Chappell, Graham DeLaet, Harris English, Ernie Els, Tony Finau, Jim Furyk, Retief Goosen, J.B. Holmes, Charley Hoffman, Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, Sean O'Hair, Ian Poulter, Vijay Singh, Brandt Snedeker, Hudson Swafford and Bubba Watson, among others.

Last year, Jhonattan Vegas shot a final-round 64 to win by one stroke over a group of three chasers; D. Johnson, Martin Laird and Jon Rahm.

Wow. I legitimately sketched that head cover for Odyssey, about 3 years ago! Broken light bulbs and I titled it "putting lights out", sent it to them via twitter.

That's pretty cool!

I wish I could find the picture. I sketched it on a coin template and sent it to Hashtag Chad. Probably more than 3 years ago actually, nearly crapped when I saw this picture.

That's in Canadian $ so you need to reduce it by about a third to equal USD.

I did forget that they're in the Great White North this week, still looks like it works out to about $9 for a beer.

Yeah, at the current exchange rate, it's $8.50 USD for a coors light. Also, 473ml is a pint so it's not like you're paying that for a small can.

Heading to this tournament tomorrow. Will be my first tour experience. Seems that I should eat a big breakfast before entering the gates. I don't know what's more egregious, the near $12 beers or the $6 iced tea. Wow.

$8.50 for a 16oz beer isn't bad. Thats better than ballpark beer prices.

Yeah I'm not sure what is so shocking about those concession prices. Pretty much in-line with every MLB/NFL/NBA/PGA event (except the Masters).

I think its more shocking that some have gotten comfortable with concept of it. Most people do not have and will not have the disposable money to continue to watch tournaments in person. Combined with heat and tons of walking, you are going to breaking bank just to eat/stay hydrated and perhaps have a few pints.

Something has got to change with concession prices, at the very least bring in more reasonably priced food trucks. It costs $11 to buy a slice of pizza at this event. If other leagues are doing the same, they are wrong too. Inflation doesn't cover these prices. Incalculable greed does.

Things are going to change. They're going to go up even more and the faithful sports fan is going to be even more out of pocket.

This may be a lazy answer, but I'd rather see it on the telly. I can record it, pause it, rewind it and watch at my leisure. Only thing I remember about being at any major sporting event is the horrific parking and traffic Oh yeah and the time CH3's caddy gave my daughter a prov1.

Every time I see DJ with that UDI in his hand I wish I could hit mine like him. I begged an old friend of mine that works at TaylorMade for a tour issue UDI head and he finally came through for me. I used to really take care of this guy back in the day and I have never asked him for anything. He said those heads, especially in the "2" which is obviously the 18 degree loft are so hard to let off the van if its not for a specific player that will actually put it in play. However... finally he came through for me... so I got myself the UDI deuce, 17.8 degrees of loft is what the sticker on the wrapper that it came in said and I shafted it with a DI-95...

IT IS AN ABSOLUTE CANNON.

But I still wish I could hit mine like DJ does...

Trackman says I fly mine about 230 yards which is plenty for my game these days but DJ flies his like 280 and he makes it look so easy.

I just checked the leaderboard and saw Johnny Ruiz, a student of George Gankas (@ggswingtips), is at -6 with 5 more holes to play. Not to jinx the kid, but he's a heck of a talent.

It's been a good couple of weeks for Gankas' students, with Ruiz winning a Mackenzie Tour event and Troy Mullins taking the WLD title in Denver (and smashing one 402 yards).
