Looks like a P790 might be the 2i that I'm looking for...? The P770s have been really impressive. and checks all the boxes for a player's club for me. I would love to play a set of the blades (or even the P750s!) but 1) I'm lefty and TM is still warming up to provideing all-things-lefty 2) I prefer to not be brutalized by an already brutal game. I'm kidding on that last one. I let golf raw-dog me without lube. It's the only explaination that makes sense.

 

They make the 750's left handed...not sure if you were aware...

When tiger mentioned TM and he designing a blade for himself is that what the current rose and Rors proto are? Or you think tiger will develop his own blade with different appearance, obviously only so much you can do with a blade.

 

I would rather see them Proto irons come out than another editon of the P750/770.

 

Idk the answer, but if they had a Tiger-Proto set of blades I would lose my sh*t and order them immediately. Cost would not matter at that point.

 

I'd be willing to put $$$ down the Rors Proto are a variant of the "Tiger" Irons if not the exact same clubs.

Looks like a PXG with the muscle shape and single screw. It's a nice looking head although i'd prefer chrome

Absolutely gutted, I bought 2 Callaway apex utilities to go with my p770 irons, if only I had waited a couple of months. Looks like I will be trading them in once thes are relaeased.

I wonder what's going on behind that screw? It seems different than just a hot melt port. Is the screw itself available in different weights? Pretty slick club, curious to see higher lofts.

It's marked as UDI under the 2. Anyone know if and entire 790 set is going with this shape or just the UDI lineup?

The only photos I've seen, have been a 3 and a 2 iron, both with UDI stamped under the number. Why does everyone assume this is going to be a full set of irons? Isn't it just as possible that this is purely a UDI-only run? 1-4 iron possibly?

I haven't watched any coverage the WGC, but has anyone seen any of the TM staffers play it this week? Firestone is a beast so I could see them going the 5W route too.

Do we have any idea about the lofts of these? I plan on potentially get a 3 (or 2) and a 4 but only if the lofts make sense.

 

Also, the pics Taylormade uploaded had a black shaft. Do we know if a graphite shaft is stock in this? Or is a black steel shaft?

I could. Im certainly not complaining about the looks. Just stating my preferences. These should do really well at retail.

i think for the right blend -- meaning 750-770-790....it makes sense. it doesn't 'fit' the chrome look if you go from 730's to these in the long irons.

 

i hope she hits as good as she looks.

Anyone know if the 790s will have a 1r? I would consider selling my UDI 1 if a 1r looks as good as the 2r.
