I have a 35'' DFX 2-Ball and it has by far my favorite putter I've ever owned.

 

For me, it's been money inside five or six feet. I think what sold me on it was the DFX insert though. It took a couple days to get used to on my greens, but since then it's been great.

I cannot believe golf without the 2Ball anymore. It's now one of the most standard putters of all-time IMHO. An instant classic, a proven winner and there's not much more to improve on. I've had 2 the White Hot and my new gamer the White Hot with the XG insert. The weight, alignment and feel of the putter is the best in the business.

I would just sell the one you have now and buy the 2 Ball Tour Fill version. That is what I did on e-bay and lost about 20.00 in the price difference.

i can't find anything on the odyssey website regarding "DFX" 2-ball putters. can somebody point me in the right direction? thanks.

I believe they have been discontinued but you can find them cheap on e-bay. The link below is a e-bay auction of one the DFX putters.

I used a White Hot 2-ball mallet, heel shafted with the alignment line for the past season and a half. I, like most people liked it for its stability on short putts, and I felt pretty confident with it from 6 feet and in. The weakness, IMO is that I lost some of the feel for distance on longer putts. I don't know if it was the White Hot insert, or the heavier weight of the head, or just a mental block, but I was leaving a lot of lag putts significantly short, and less frequently, blew them was past the hole. I thought that I would adjust eventually, but I continued to have problems with inconsistent distance.

 

This year, I'm switching to a Studio series Newport II. I think that will offer me a little better feel on the long ones, while allowing me to remain confident on the shorter ones. However, I won't be getting rid of my 2-ball -- at least not right away.

 

I'd rate the 2-ball a solid 4/5.

Nice write up Tigger. I am in the same boat, enjoy the alignment, but can't consistently lag. Obviously the problem is the putter, not the putter operator. Going back to a Rossie, with the XG insert. Oh, my 2-ball has the White Steel face. Like you, i'm not parting with it right away...

I got the two-ball lined blade helping me to make less than 30 putts few rounds.

It's a damm good putter in the world for me.

Mine is the 2-ball Blade Tour Lined 34". It's entirely possible that I will use this putter until the face delaminates or some other disaster occurs. It is a breeze to aim, especially if you do a sharpie line on your ball. Distance control on longer putts might be a little suspect, but you'll more than likely have the line.

I have a 2 ball but cant find the head weight listed anywhere, can anyone help with this? White Hot XG 2 ball with sight line.

Rory uses a two-ball, yes? I love the soft feel of the blade version I have. And also the skinny grip. Still, I feel that I can manipulate a traditional blade better.
