Anyone know if the 790s will have a 1r? I would consider selling my UDI 1 if a 1r looks as good as the 2r.

 

I do not believe they will have a 1 iron in this line.

Looks like a PXG with the muscle shape and single screw. It's a nice looking head although i'd prefer chrome

 

You could always chrome them out if you want.

Looks like a P790 might be the 2i that I'm looking for...? The P770s have been really impressive. and checks all the boxes for a player's club for me. I would love to play a set of the blades (or even the P750s!) but 1) I'm lefty and TM is still warming up to provideing all-things-lefty 2) I prefer to not be brutalized by an already brutal game. I'm kidding on that last one. I let golf raw-dog me without lube. It's the only explaination that makes sense.

 

They make the 750's left handed...not sure if you were aware...

I am not a Tmag guy but these are beautiful. The 770's feel great but want to go left on me. They are plenty forgiving, just seem very draw biased. I have not hit the 750 but they look good, nothing I have ever seen from TM looks as good as this 790 though. Need to see it in person though, I feel like they may be too large to look down at.

Can't wait for these. The UDI were a good solid club but didn't always agree with me so I'm looking forward to trying the 790 UDI 2 iron.

Why expand on the P750 and P770 lines? I feel if you go any more "GI" than the P770 you're getting into the M1/M2 territories....?

 

I'd much rather see Rors/Rose Proto come out.

 

Because now that the 750 and 770's have been out for a couple of months, they've sold plenty to fellas who thought they could use them accurately and consistently. Now is the time to roll out the 790's, and try to convince those fellas that if they couldn't hit the previous purchases well, they should trade them in and upgrade to the new sticks.

Interesting that it's going to be a full set, yet the only images we've seen are of UDIs.

If you look at the top line shots, it looks very similar (if not the same) as the current UDI. I think this is just a forged version with a different back plus the addition of tungsten. This is good news though, because the current UDI is one of the best, if not the best, driving iron out there.

Will be interesting to see all the different combo set that will be out there with the different models. Hopefully they'll have the same lofts throughout the 730-750-770-790's so you can easily do this unlike how Titleist's are typically all different.

Not sure on the 790s yet, but the 750/770 lofts are a little different. Not much, but a degree difference on the low end.

Ok, ok. I did get a chance to hit 'em, 4 and 8. Lot of guys are going to love these as long iron replacements/driving irons. People that like cf16s type irons are gonna want to give these a try in the full set as well

They're a little more chunky than I'd normally play, but they're not super thick. Similar to apex/z565 iirc

 

Edit: maybe a little slimmer than the apex, less offset too, even in the longer irons
