Flow neck putter insert to replace double bend?

Hi everyone, not sure if this has been asked but does anyone make an adapter that I can change my double bend putter shaft to a flow neck?

 

I have seen this but would rather a flow neck rather then the plumbers neck

I'm having a friend cast me one. The problem are:

 

getting the flow just right for such a short neck.

trying to get it done in a sturdy material. He does most of his stuff in brass and bronze.

finally drilling the hole.

I plan on making a putter purchase in the near future, nothing a little drilling can't fix I guess, mine looks to be a hole though

Currently working on making one myself. I am making one for my Ghost Spider S. Took my double bend shaft off and putting in a black straight shaft that I purchased. I am going to try both aluminum and metal ones that I picked up material from work. Going to make them on my mill and bend them up to work.

I have a Scotty Cameron California Fastback and would like to get a slant or plumbers neck. Does anybody know if this can be done easily, i.e. is there a hole in the putter head where the shaft goes in (from what I a can see this should be the case), or is there a stem? Also, is there a company based in Europe able to do this? Thanks!

With my Ghost Spider S the bent shaft has as stud coming out of the shaft. There is no hole in it. I am modeling up an adapter that I will mill and turn up to epoxy over the stock stud and bend up and have a stud on it for the putter shaft to make it look like a slant neck.

I was thinking of getting a Tyne and marking it a knucklehead. Is the shaft hole on the Tyne straight/perfectly vertical?

I talked to Chip at Black Lab about these, and they are designed to work on hosel bore holes that are 90deg.

 

Way back I had Lajosi make the same for a Scotty Squareback. When he had it, he confirmed the Scotty bores are not 90deg. If you were to install this on your Scotty, the preset lie angle in the knuckle will be 5-6deg out.

 

I can't comment on the X7M, but I would assume Scotty would use the same bore angle - as his propriety single bend shafts are designed to suit this.

Thanks for the reply! I sent a message through ebay and Chip answered that he didn't know specifically about the X7M and the tip size of the stock shaft. I have heard several times that Scotty uses proprietary shafts so that's why I had reservations about it working the way I pictured. I wasn't even considering the issue of the bore angle. Thanks again, I appreciate the help!

Not to say it can't be done though - it would just require some extra modding.

 

I looked at the pic of an x7M. You could cut off the spud that takes the current shaft, then have someone drill in a 90deg hole in the current location to install the knuckle.

 

You'd have to decide if that is worth the effort though.

Yeah, that's a little more involved than I want to get. I originally liked the idea of it being "plug and play," so to speak.

TM actually made a Ghost spider S flow neck, or “slant neck”.. I have two of them. Best putter I’ve ever used.

 

Find a used one on the Bay. Will save a lot of work.

and PJ putters - all looked good aside from PJ putters seeming to be in the UK.

 

I have a putter with a double bend shaft and want to convert it to flow neck but no way am I willing to drop like 180 for that to happen LOL at that price you could get a whole new putter with a different neck. The model I have isn't available in slant/flow neck but those necks fit me best I recently learned in a fitting. Wonder if either the edel or hireko golf ones would work out. I'd be willing to perform work but drilling holes in the darn thing would make me uneasy. I've emailed the company Evnroll to see if their ER5 has a stem or hole and if they recommended anyone to make this conversion. I'd be willing to spend 100 but nothing more than that and would much rather a simple glue in option in case it doesn't work out I haven't ruined a putter worth decent money. I'd love to see any updates or pictures people have about the work spoken about above.
