I saw these back in December and held off buying any of this years because I liked the 2's that much more. Liked the materials and lack of a tie swoosh. Plus the seemed to have a little more padding.

 

That said I won't be buying.

Wife got laid off. Kinda petty but won't ever support them again. She's over it but I'm not. Not sure if it is harder or easier to take when the reason is because she made too much $. Nothing to do with performance.

 

Interesting to see the direction they take since golf merged with SB and Tennis. Vast majority of the team is from the tennis department.

 

Also why I got upset or said stuff in the past about online leaks is I've seen her and her team working on the 2018 product since July/August of last year. She was the Global Marketing Director for Nike Golf

Sorry to hear that Mallrat. My wife was also laid off last November, as she was part of an ad agency that maintained / developed NDC. The agency outsourced her group and as you can probably see, a ton of issues and bugs on their site. Luckily she recently found a job and is doing fine without them. Though the perks and inside info was nice until people started abusing it. Every large company is cutting corners to save $. Inevitable cycle this day and age.

Thanks guys. She's got a good resume and 9+ solid years there. Just hoping we don't have to move. The company has changed a lot and not the place it was. It used to be that your work stood above all else and now it's all about how cool you are. They have brought in a lot of people from outside the company and the culture has changed a TON. interesting to see where it goes, they have a lot of good people there but they also still have all the people that led them down the wrong path. There are a lot of yes men there now where as when she started if you didn't agree you were encouraged to speak up and offer a different opinion.

I also am sorry to hear about her lay off. I work with a lot of CMOs and such in the work that I do so I understand how in demand someone like that can be. She'll bounce back quickly, and like you said hopefully you'll not have to move. Having Nike on her resume certainly won't hurt her.

 

Anyway, without sounding insensitive, does anyone know when we will see in hand pics of the shoes? I'm very interested in the different blue colors they appear to be offering.

Best styled sports yes, but having SB in there is kind of a strange twist. Golf and Tennis are very complimentary of each other; polos, clean minimalist styling but bright and noticeable generally speaking. Skateboarding is really against all of this at its roots so I don't really get how those will all mesh well together. Hopefully it will bring back the great days of SB and their shoes won't continue to go to s*** with the terrible materials they use. I miss the buttery suede and real skate materials.

I think a lot of SB stuff is pretty clean in looks. The BA line of clothing from last year was great
