Along the I-5 corridor?

Hey folks-
I am taking a LONG road trip :crazy: from Seattle to Monterey for business beginning next Tuesday the 4th. My clubs will be in the back of the car, and would love some feedback on good golf courses in OR, and NorCal to hit on my way down. Nothing crazy expensive and nothing 3 hours from the freeway either. I know there's a solid OR contingent on here, would love to play with a GolfWrx alum too! I have a 5.3 index (playing more like an 8 right now though).

Hi Crosier, sounds like a great way to do a road trip. I'd offer to play a round with ya but I have a newly est HI of 14 that is highly overrated imo and I would likely just slow you down. Here are a few you may want to hit while coming through Sac-town.

C'mon Oregon guys...I know there are some sick courses in Central OR. What about you Dan from DiscountGolf? Obviously Bandon isn't quite on my way, but there got to be something good.

Diablo Grande in Patterson, I played an AJGA there. Although I am not sure if one of the courses is open to the public. It is like 10 minutes off the highway. Also, maybe like half an hour or so from 5 is Poppy Ridge, which is pretty nice.

Poppy Ridge is a good choice because you can take the 210 in Tracy to the 580 to play Poppy Ridge.

 

After Poppy Ridge take 580 to 680 south to 101 south on into Monterey.

In OR the best course off the I-5 corridor is Eugene Country Club by a large margin. If you would like to play there I am a member and would be happy to take you out there. The guest rate is VERY reasonable and it is about 2 min from I-5. PM me with details of when you will be here and we will work out the details.
