MD/DC/VA Golfers - This One Goes to Eleven

I think the options for a thrifty round are Herndon Centennial, Algonkian, Brambleton, and Westpark. Here's my quick rundown....

Herndon Centennial - municipal course for the town of Herndon. Short course, usually in decent shape. Have not played it since last winter due to distance from my house. Easy course to walk.

Algonkian - Northern VA Park course, relatively long for a public course and really flat. Near the Potomac River, but no river holes. Was in good shape when I played a few months ago. Easy course to walk.

Brambleton - Norther VA Park course, similar to Algonkian but is not as flat and has a better variety of holes. I play here often and it was in pretty good shape last time I played. Although I think they punched the greens this week, so you may want to call to check on that. Easy course to walk.

Westpark - Local course in Leesburg, VA. right off the highway after the end of the Greenway Toll Road. Played there last month and was not in as good as shape as the courses above. Hard course to walk because there are some long distances between holes.

Hope this helps.

OK, enough jokes. There is no Juror 8013. I made her up so you guys would think I was cool.

There really wasn't. We went from 8011 to 8014. 8011 got selected. Ha ha.

Still no contact with neighbor.

Had a lamb burger with cherry sauce and curly fries for lunch. You want to know something to say to a bartender to confuse her when your food comes, "Curly fries for curly guys."

Right now, just want to get outta here for some (more) DTF.

Someone just started snoring.

Got a ride home with the JUDGE. Picked up her dry cleaning.

Got let off about 3:30. Big win. An audible WHOOP went up through the room.

Tex - you were right golf galaxy was a waste of time. Basically the guy said it's useless if I can't see your ball flight but wrote me a slip for what he thinks would be my best set up. He told me to take it to Olney, say he sent me, and hit the combo to see the ball flight. What he thought was the best set up took me by surprise. Titleist 917d2 with a rogue max extra stiff. Never thought my swing speed would warrant an x stiff. With what we could see my current set up was resulting in 100-104 swing speed and 3500 spin. The rogue max x stiff brought the spin down under 2000 but the distance was roughly the same.

Need to do some research to see if I can bring the spin down on an r7 by playing with the weight configuration. I have it set on an extremely high setup. I think if I reverse the weights it might help the spin. Can anyone confirm this? Will give it a test run Sunday.

Very curious to see what you fit me into Thursday.

If we can't get any more juror 8013 stories, how about a golf recap?

Also, have any of you eaten elk before?

can you guys tell me about royal new Kent?

Yes. It is awesome, particularly the front 9. Lots of blind shots, crazy bunkering, massive elevation changes. I loved it. I played tips and played a great round, but it can bite one fast. Very difficult track. Gorgeous property. Conditions sometimes aren't great, but I like it.

By tips do you mean Invictus? I'll be playing with strangers. I was hoping they'd let me play it from back there
