I think they look god awful. But whatever floats your boat. It looked like Rory and Jason were trying to make them popular but they looked like crap on them too. I even think they stoped wearing them.

I'm right there with you. Nike has went so far downhill in the past 5 years it's crazy! All of their shoes fall apart or tear in 6 months or less, their shirts are now paper thin and most of their golf pants/shorts are made from a scratchy swimsuit material. Unless you are buying the TW line of pants/shorts, everything they make is garbage now.

However, if you wanted to wear the colorless shirt on a golf course, I don't think that many courses will give you any issues. They are technically golf attire.

If they are good enough for the Tour Pros, they should be good enough for your local muni.

I tried that approach at a private country club in Mew Jersey (Fiddlers Elbow) with a mock turtle neck golf shirt when I first started playing. They told me I needed a collared shirt to play (I was playing as a guest on a corporate membership from one of my vendors). I explained that it was a collar and that they are good enough for Tiger Woods to wear on tour, to which I received a response of “well, you’re not Tiger Woods, this isn’t the tour, so you can put on a collared shirt or play elsewhere”. $70 later, I had a collared shirt and played, lol.

That's a swanky place. We had our company holiday party there a couple years ago.

We had a thread about these a couple months ago. Many clubs have changed their collar rule to be "accepted golf attire".

Still doesn't fly at most of the clubs down here. Some even have pictures of guys with "appropriate" long socks, belts and sweater vests. The tennis clubs have allowed modern attire and encourage diversity, as a result most of the women and young golfers have dropped golf to be more relaxed and accepted. It's annoying to change from a modern athletic shirt for tennis in the morning to a collared shirt for golf in the arvo. And heaven help me if I forget! Even for practice on the range or putting green. I've kind of had it with the old farts who can't change and adapt. They're about as boring as bat s*** to boot. I don't think the tradition and respect of golf will be forever harmed by a contemporary shift in attitude.

While they're not for me, and I really don't like the cargo shorts and T-shirt look, I've had a couple of bad experiences with some courses. One was in the summer in Palm Springs at Mission Hills. My buddy was director of golf there and let me use the practice facility. I took my son who was probably 18 at the time, and an employee at another private club. He was a very good golfer at the time - not a hack. We were the only ones on the range. Some member drives by sees my son wearing a TW style mock turtle and calls it in. My buddy has to tell us to leave. Thankfully my son didn't let this deter him from the game.

Another time a buddy who is a life long golfer and dentist and I played at a nice course. He was wearing what I thought were nice shorts, but they had a zipper pocket below the regular pockets. Not a cargo style pocket, but a zipper with a pocket underneath. They wouldn't let him play, and he had to buy some crazy expensive shorts he didn't want.

There are always going to be courses like this because lots of people like them. Next time I should wear something like these to maintain the decorum of the course.

And they were spot on with their response.

Love my blade collar shirts the most of all that I have owned. With that said it is a collard shirt, but certainly as a golfer pay great respect to all dress codes on the course or club. If the course requires a collard shirt, blade collar is perfect. However, if the course requires a fold down collard shirt, blades are usually out as most blade style collars lack enough material to fold over or fold down. Just know where you're playing and the official dress code that applies.

I think the flat front shots are wonderful quality. Certainly better than the Greg Norman shorts I have.

it's not exactly a classic look, but i like it....if you're playing a prestigious course, def. would not wear it though. Actually, i think cargo shorts or t shirts/jeans are a bigger issue, lol

Not sure what Nike shoes your wearing that fell apart, but to say Nikes have fallen off because their shoes don't last is biased and silly. I've worn my fi premieres at least 80 rounds with no issues. I almost wish they would fall apart so I can get a new pair.

I consider myself an athlete, and like to look like one. Their shoes and shirts do that for me

Wore the Nike blade collars at the Greenbrier without problem. Check the pro shop if you're wondering -- chances are even these nice courses carry them with the course logo -- if so, you are good to go

That will be next lol. A stuffy course that sells them but does not allow them on course. :)
