SuperStroke Black Midnight... Finally a Black (mostly) grip

Have used the White/Gray/Black Flatso Ultra (now called the Flatso 1.0) as there was really no black option. 2017 SuperStroke has a Black/White Midnight option in the Flatso 1.0 that I just threw on my V-Line and it looks and feels awesome. It would be perfect if it were murdered out and all black, but this is probably as close as it will be as they got to have the SuperStroke label visible.

SuperStroke just released a "Black Tie" limited edition GTR Tour last week and it sold out almost immediately. It looked sweet and obviously proves that people want that blackout color scheme.

 

It's a shame they don't make it a normal stock offering.

Would be great if they had a black grip and a blackout SuperStroke like Ping did with their PingMan grips or Sharpie the Ping grip with the white paintfill.

I blacked mine out as I have found on the forum here. Search blacked out super stroke or something like that. Fabric paint from an auto store. Not as tacky as without it however looks great. I also don't care about tackiness when it comes to my putter. Irons yes. Putter no.

When it comes to colors I feel like SuperStroke does a terrible job. Many have been asking for a mostly all black grip from them for a few years now, and they still haven't made one fully available to the masses-only this limited release of the GTR... They've finally made the colors better on the "S-Tech" club grips in this year's 2.0 version, but they still have that ugly "S" on what should be the no logo/logo down side for those who don't care to see logos on their grips in the playing position... Don't get me wrong, I think their products perform great, but from an aesthetics perspective they could do much better. Just my opinion.

I did read that thread but really like the feel of the grip as is so I'm hesitant to paint it.

Got my GTR Tour on Friday and immediately put it on my Kingston. It is what all SuperStrokes should look like. The only thing I think would make it absolutely perfect is to have the logo and words reversed on the grip - "SuperStroke" on top and the swirl logo on the bottom but otherwise, it's looks great. It also feels really good. I used to have a Pure grip on it but I wasn't sold with it. I had many different grips ready to replace the Pure grip in my basement - Iomic mid, Garsen, pure mid - but I think they may just sit there collecting dust now that the GTR is on. It would be cool if there were different solid colors but the black just looks so good.

Yeah, it's more of a silver-ish grey. I thought it was going to come white but was pleasantly surprised. A darker gray would be cool too.

Yeah, there's a seam but it's not as prominent as some of the other ones.

Is the "black tie" 65 grams? nearly same size as the old flatso 1.0?

 

Is there a rib running down the whole grip or just the top as a standard pistol grip?
