They look good, I just ordered 2 more SM6's because i am changing my wedge setup and do not want to wait, but might pick these up next fall.

I can't tell from the pic, but is there a bronze/copper finish? That is my favorite. The gunmetal color wore off fairly quick and my wedges looked terrible. I went chrome this time, but would love bronze as an option.

They look the same as sm6 with the sm7 writing moved to the middle. Not that there’s anything wrong with that since sm6 are nice. I don’t expect these to be any different than sm6

I realize it's one shot of the backs of the wedges, but what is different about these vs. SM6 (from this one shot)? Not being contrarian, just curious. Maybe slight differences in the CG/ the shape of the CG weighting? Very slight?

... Taking it one step further, I really don't care what the backs look like as long as it has the right grind, the leading edge and overall shape fit my eye address. It can have the most subtle and beautiful back ever seen but if it doesn't look right at address it is all meaningless.

To me, it looks as though they're all the same grey finish in that pic. Maybe the shadows are making the front one look darker? I heard the gold option of the SM5 didn't sell well, so they removed it in the SM6.

I like the cleaned up look of these vs. the SM6. I'm curious of the shape at address. Hopefully like the SM4.

Kinda what I was getting at. I don't give two s's about any aspect of a club's looks, other than what it looks like standing over it (and obviously how it performs). I can negotiate with myself over what I'm willing to compromise on, but I was actually asking what performance improvements the new wedges bring and not actually 'how different the back looks from the SM5'. Maybe what I meant to ask- they don't look much different, so what is different?

Three things:

1. I doubt there is much improvement over the SM6 performance-wise.

2. With the prices Vokey is charging off the rack, they should offer more custom options no charge (shaft/ grip options). Further, with the price tag, there is no good reason not to offer no charge upgrades to their Wedgeworks choices. To be clear, I'd have no problem paying WedgeWorks prices for raw from Vokey, if the slightly more expensive upgrade prices didn't make the cost prohibitive. When I go from an already more expensive wedge and add $40-$50 over that with grip, shaft, and shipping, that's when the cost gets exorbitant ( I prefer KBS 610 & Golf Pride Z-Cord).

3. I am sick of hearing how badly the general public hates a raw finish, all while watching crappy 3rd option finishes. Oil can used to be a staple. Black nickel, gold whatever, black gold, Texas tea, some "black raw finish" that really isn't that raw once you strip it away- trust me, I've stripped many black finish Vokey's with mixed results based on the finish. It makes no sense when I watch these other finishes wither on the vine of retail racks and go away after one retail cycle. Oil can looks great new, and offers options moving forward whether you want to keep the original finish as perfect as possible, leave it to patina maintenance-free, or just strip it from the get-go.

Preach! Raw needs to be brought back and not some 100 marked up wedge works option.

Any specs on the D grind? What lofts etc?

D grind will sit between the M and K and available in 58° and 60°. I’ve been told the D grind is similar to a M but more “all over” bounce.

Could be... but I think it will be more playable on 3/4 shots over the K. The leading edge and actual measured bounce of the K is pretty low so, great out of bunkers, wasn’t the best from the fairway for anyone that takes divots. The M has always had the most leading edge measured bounce and has been my choice for years.

How much better can the performance of vokey wedge really get anyway?

Well. The lob wedge could get to the pm grind level. Said by a guy playing vokey currently. But the pm grind lob is the best ever produced. Plenty of non callaway staffers play them. Sorry. Couldn't help but answer that question. Need to move a ton of weight high to the toe. And a dual purpose sole grind with a touch of offset and a round leading edge. Makes it soooo easy to get under the ball on even the tightest lie.

Why not just buy the raw option now offered by Wedgeworks? Yes they are $50 more but by the time you get to pick you shaft, grip, and adjust it to your specs it is about a wash.

Agree with you-good point, raw is there and available, what's the issue? Order them, pay the money, move on, all this wining over "not avail at retail", they are available at retail, online order, pay, shipped. if a person can't afford to pay the difference or chooses not to, that's a different story.

Thanks for the info. I currently have a 58 K but am going to go to 60 K. I play a links and need a proper bunker club because every bunker is a proper bunker.

I do like the wedges. I think they perform well, and no doubt they look fantastic, but making people pay more for a raw version of a club when the manufacturer could just make an actual forged wedge in black oxide and you'd have what you're looking for after 5 min of steel wool and some naval jelly.

Maybe that option exists and you have to pay $250 a wedge for it? Idk.

A great wedge is worth the cost, no matter what it might be, IMO, I just also think that the major up charge for aesthetics, which actually probably cost the company less money to produce (just pick a few out of the assembly line here and there before the finish is done) and they charge MORE for that?

"Hey Bob! Check out my new Mustang! It's the RAW version. Only 75% price increase to get it without the paint!"
