My sub zero actually distance wise is similar to my Aeroburner TP, though a very different driver to hit. Last time I'm getting a driver without testing it first. Still gaming it though since it looks cooler LOL and easier to hit different shot shapes.

 

I'm not sure I dig the look of the bottom of the club though. Hope it really doesn't replace the epics but probably will have epic 2 soon I guess.

Thanks for the pic! I am guessing it is not long before we see staff members trying these out on the Tours.

I still say there is close to zero percent chance these replace the Epic lineup. XR Steelhead XR16 is beginning to see markdowns this week, which would indicate a replacement model is on the way.

The sole of this driver doesn’t look as premium, doesn’t feature sliding weights and doesn’t look to have carbon fiber “windows”. Less features would not indicate a replacement for a premium product line. Think M2 to M1. Some may fit Rogue better and there will definitely be some out on Tour, but not a dethroning of King Epic.

Just got an email from PGATSS and the XR line is being discounted with the price ending with 98. That indicates it is being priced to clear it out for new product.

It least here in Atlanta, the Epic is not marked down. Driver, FW, hybrids, and irons are the same price as the day they were released. Only the XR line is discounted.

Rogue is basically the sub-zero version with a front/back weight, another with heel/back weights for what they're calling a draw set-up and one that might be a single weight, with no slider as the largest, most "forgiving"?

 

Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Just trying to recount what I remember reading.

Yep, The names XR-18 Rogue, XR-18 Mav and XR-18 Pure have all been trademarked by Callaway. Filing date was March 1st 2017

I don't really see how it's an XR replacement when it's just an Epic with altered graphics, maybe some small tweaks to the bottom for "aerodynamics". It's not like people would go buying brand new Epics once this is released...therefore it's competing with it's own line of product. It's a Rev of the Epic, being branded under the XR name so they don't have to reduce the price of Epic by much.

But I cannot pick what shaft I want, and they don't have the shaft I want listed yet. I have been looking. Otherwise I would have one right now and my XR Pro 16 would be a distant memory.

I was also told that this is an Epic replacement... from the story I heard, the feedback Callaway received indicated that players were having consistency and accuracy issues with the Epic so the Epic and Fusion driver had a baby named Rogue... the desire result was a driver with the length of the Epic but more consistency and forgiveness like Fusion.

 

this surprises me, my Epic driver is very consistent and the ball flight is outstanding. The operator, not so much....
