SuperSpeed Golf training system

For those wanting to pick these up and save some cash, eBay has a 20% off coupon through 11/20. Just got mine for $167 shipped. Coupon is PSHOPEARLY

I just did the same thing. I have been wanting to get these but wanted to wait until tournament season was over and with the 20% off I couldn't pass it up.

Wish I'd waited a day. They also have a 8% ebay bucks promo now. That essentially lowers it to $155ish.

For those DIYers, do you still use them consistently? If you were to build them again, what would you do differently for better?

I’m trying the DIY route now. Occurred to me that no one is making use of the adapters. I’m trying it out now. Why use 3 different shafts? Why not make the weights fit a current adapter and swap out the weights as needed. My only concern is the heavy weight and being sure the screw is strong enough to hold. I may still build out a separate shaft for it. Any thoughts?

It would virtually double the length of each session. A typical protocol takes about 15 minutes and following it properly would see the shaft changed 9 times. You would soon get tired of changing shafts

Good point, I haven’t even checked the protocols yet. Not to mention hurriedly changing shafts that much could result in a stripped screw in no time.

Interested in picking up for my 10 year old. Should I go with the peewee version (listed to age 11) or the junior version (12 to 15 y/o)?

In reading the thread I see differences in weights relative to their static weight driver. The website for the product says they should be -20% lighter, -10% lighter, and 5% heavier than your driver. Is there a reason people are doing different weight options?

I say it would be personal preference. I will build mine -20%, -10% and +10%.

I got SSR in hand but the reading is super low (at least 33% off). Per the owner, I should go out to range and test it. I will do it but from what I read, it seems like there are some people have faulty device. I might have to exchange. Darn.

I am also suspect of my SSR device. One day the readings were higher next much lower. Perhaps batteries are not fresh - will change them out since its been a while.

Any suggestions on applying anything temporarliy to your own driver to get the +5% that is easily removable?

My driver is 312 grams. That would mean adding 15-16 grams to it during the work out.

Edit: Perhaps adding a very long strip of 1/2 inch wide lead tape around the neck? It may be 15 inches long though. I think the longer it is the better the chance of staying on and then off repeatedly. This way you are using your own driver.

Edit: Found a pair of ankle socks at 1oz = 35grams. Perhaps a pair of light weight ankle socks?

I ordered the Super Speed clubs and got them last week. In testing it out a little at home, I found that I'll be able to do it in my garage without killing my door opener, so I have a space to do it through the winter even if I don't go to the range regularly. I did the introductory protocol for the first time this past weekend before teeing off for a solo round on Saturday. I found the whole thing pretty easy to get through pretty quickly, though the left handed swings are awkward and a little hard on my hands, but I'd expect that to become less so after a few sessions. I basically went through the protocol, and then teed off after a couple of practice swings, which was probably not the best idea. A regular club feels a little strange after using the Super Speed training clubs. I can't say I noticed an immediate increase in distance, but it was a tough day to really tell much, because it was my first time touching a club in over a week, and I was playing in 15-20 mph winds. I can say that a couple times earlier in the year when I have been on Trackman, it was measuring my driver swing speed at around 115 normally, and topping out at 119, swinging out of my shoes. I definitely think that the normal routine I'd want to do if I was using the training clubs prior to a round is to do the training protocol and then hit at least a few balls to get the normal feel back, but I didn't feel like it messed with my ball striking terribly. That said, I think it's probably important to actually hit balls regularly when doing the different training routines, because I could see only doing the training messing with your feel for ball striking.

Are the protocols still useful if you cut bits out, winter in the UK means it's dark by the time i get out, garage is too risky and the range shuts early due to no floodlights, so being able to just do the right hand swings could be easier, but not sure if there is other quicker protocols that could be used through the winter months?

if you can record your ss on periodical basis, we all would appreciate.

I got washers stacked and taped up for epoxy job tonight. Once done, I will post pix.

Yesterday, I took out SSR to the field and recorded my driver swing while gaming. It read from 101 to 110 averaging 105. My goal is to have consistent ss @ 115.

Though I live in SoCal where I could golf all year long, I practice indoor at home; hardly any range session. Once I get my DIY gears done, I will do it at home as usual following the protocol step by step.

I encourage you to do the same and develop ever-fast swing speed for the next season.

I have been following it for a while, but the lack of light and constant wet conditions make doing it after work a bit difficult now, not a chance i could do it indoors without another ceiling 'incident'!

Just wondering if just doing the normal side is worthwhile, can't really see any harm in it and it'll half the time i have to swing a club in the cold and dark when it's not raining, i'd still like to do the protocols twice a week, but might just have to do it once a week until spring.

If this has been answered I've missed it.

Does using this system result in developing a mechanically bad swing?

I took the DIY route with washers and did the Intro protocol. I found that I was "swinging hard" predominantly with my hands, arms, and shoulders and was not using my body as I should. Historically my driver distances are shorter when I have a hands and arms dominated swing.

Conversely when I use an Orange Whip I feel that I am engaging my body to help swing the club.

As I continue using the SuperSpeed approach will I naturally start using my body to help swing the club? Is this something I should consciously try and do?

As far as I can tell the program is just to "swing as hard as you can" and things will get better. Can someone enlighten me?

TIA

Like my pastor often said, you (as I) guys are living in "bubble" with 10" high ceiling living room in Southern California. It is my bad that not everyone has the same condition as mine.

So I started to build my own set trying to mimic the weights seen in this pic from the super speed website. The first two came out to 265g and 295g. The thing I also noticed was that my actual gamer driver is 338 grams, about the weight of the "heavy driver". For training purposes, should I stick to these 240, 290 and 335 gram weights or should they be 20% lighter, 10% lighter and 5% heavier than my standard driver?

Well, I'm in. After reading the two larger threads on the subject for the last couple of weeks i finally ordered the other day. Should be here tomorrow. Getting older and in the last 5 years and a couple injuries I am down to 102 or so. I hit 69% of fairways for the 100 rounds I played this last year. I want some distance back, but need to keep that accuracy.

blah, blah blah....I'm starting the program and kind of excited to get some benefit to all this hype. 5-10 mph more would be fantastic!
