Stop being offended by what you read. You are the problem in what you're complaining about. It's come full circle and you are too busy complaining about everyone else's opinion to realize that you are in fact, the problem you hate so much about everyone else. Don't like seeing what people's initial thoughts are based on a few pictures and a Rick Shiels youtube video, then leave this community.

 

Sure, it will sell... most likely. Sure, it will appeal to some and not to others. Get over it. This whole community is based upon each individual's perception and response to everything golf. That's what makes this community special and unique.

 

So stop being a keyboard warrior and just ignore what you don't like or don't want to see. You're WORTHLESS (see what I did there) complaining about NOTHING (one more time) related to this product is necessary.

Rick's review was interesting. I kind of dig the grey/black look even though it's a TM rip off. But who isn't ripping off everyone else these days?? I'd be curious to see if this sticks in Fowler's bag. Being busy doesn't bother me any, I'm just not sold on the face milling because it's new. But who knows, maybe they are on to something. I like Cobra and hope they stick around.

and TM copied the Callaway Fusion ERC, but so what? If anything, I like it when manufacturers copy each other. In a sea of gimmicks, it tells me what new tech ideas are legit enough to get the other guys attention. Wonder if anyone else will pick up on CNC milling in 18/19..

The Cobra stuff has never really suited my eye. But I'll give them tremendous credit for the tech that have been using. A couple of insiders told me that they were really handcuffed when they were under the Titleist umbrella. All the cool stuff the Cobra engineers would come up with would immediately be 'claimed' by the Titleist team and used in their product instead. No clue if that's actually true but its an interesting tidbit. I'm just really curious to see how long they can hang on. Cobra definitely has a following on WRX but I don't see that carrying over to retail at all. We shall see.

I’m a Titleist fanboy but I don’t think anything from Titleist is cool and high tech. They are always criticized for being behind in tech .

 

I do agree they Cobra had a big following here but in the real world many would agree they are not big sellers in the stores .

I need to see those fws up close. Not a fan of the grey color but love it in black. I love the face shape, especially for a 3-4 but it'll be a tough choice between the F8 and F8+. It seems as though the F8 has the address shape I like but the + has the weight placement. Definitely not preordering but will seriously examine them in the store. For those not into the baffler rails, the rails on the F7 3-4 are so short that you barely notice them. I'm sure these are no different.

Other than the aerodynamics/speedsteps/ turbulators on the crown, I think they look pretty damn good. Shape is nice, carbon to titanium transition is well done, and the bottom is pretty clean and symmetrical.

 

That said, I'm getting really tired of these OEMs "badging" every piece of tech on their clubs. I mean - CNC Milled, Aero 360, MyFly Loft, Smartpad, Lightweight Carbon Fiber, Baffler Tech - is this sh*t really necessary? Include it in your product brochure if you want, but it doesn't have to be spelled out on the club.

 

I think what turns me off most to Cobra is the actual Cobra branding... and... it's in the one spot that I'm going to have to look at it every time I use the club. I realize there is some history here, but I think they'd be better suited dropping the Cobra branding. I imagine the market would receive King Golf better the King Cobra. Just has a Wal-mart brand feel to me. At the very least, they could updated the logo

I have been impressed in recent years with the look and performance of the Cobra lines. This years offerings are the best yet and should move them closer to the leaders in the industry!

After watching the Shiels video, I came around a bit on the looks. I still don't like the weight shape, and I prefer the matte top with the cobra lettering on the F7+, but the face did look pretty cool.

I was close to really wanting to try/buy the F7, and this may do it for me. I've never owned a Cobra club (except for a very brief stint with the infamous L4V years ago), but I really like the look of this. Sure, it "rips off" Callaway/Ping/TM but I think it's great to have the different color to focus on the front of the head AND the stripes/turbulators/etc helping to focus on the center all together in one head. Busy, sure. But seems to be, at least subconsciously, something that may help. And the Junior golfer system is great. I may actually have to splurge for my 7 and 8 year old since they'll "grow" with them.

 

Quick question that would also have applied to the F7 - if I wanted the length at 44.5", I'd have to order directly from Cobra to take advantage of the Arccos tech, correct? If I just bought stock, shortened the shaft, and replaced the grip, I'd lose that benefit, right (unless I separately had an Arccos system)?

Not to my liking. Cobra has always made solid clubs but these are trying too hard to copy TM and Ping technogies including the top crown and the 'turbulators' (these are not too great looking either). And the face looks like a much cheaper club (not sure what they were thinking with this one). I'm sure they'll work fine but it's just not my taste. The headcover looks pretty terrific though.

I love this clubs color scheme personally, i have the f7 heritage, i like different cool stuff, i can say Rick Shields was killing it even on misses, I'm in on this one for sure I'm not sure why being i hit the f7 so easy
