Love it! Love the look, the feel, the sound. Fits my stroke perfectly, but isn't that what it's all about?

I'm also surprised that there isn't more talk about the 5cb.

Just got mine after many testing sessions. Coming from an Anser 2, I have realised that I putt so much better with a mallet with slight toe hang like this one. Or even with a face balanced putter, even if I have a slight arc in the stroke. I also like the weight of the 5cb, feels a little heavier than many others I tested.

Other putters I liked:

Futura 5S - I actually bought this and returned it. Worked really good for me, but I have to adjust my setup and move my hands back, since it's center-shafted.

Futura 5.5M - easy to aim, like the 5S, felt good too. Not as good as the 5cb though

Cleveland Cero - nice face-balanced putter, worked good for me as well

Newport M2 - liked this one a lot, but I had preferred a straight line instead of the cross-thing

I also tried:

Odyssey 7s och V-line Fang CH, Taylormade Mullen, which fit me well other than they were a tad too light,

Newport M1 (again the cross-thing...), I thought this would be it but couldn't get a good stroke, feels a lot like the Golo 5R to me.

Thanks for the help!

I like the clean and simple look, but if I was to change one thing about the 5cb, it would be adding an alignment-line. Thinking of doing it myself with a water-resistant thin marker pen.

One idea like this, or just the center line:

That looks great how would you or could i add one?

I guess you could custom order one. You’ll see some ideas if you google the tour prototype ”Futura T5CB”.

I’m afraid that doing it yourself with paint and a thin brush could get messy. That’s why I was thinking a thin water-resistant white ink marker.

But, I’m going to play it as is for a while, since it works very well. Also, the black part is a perfect half circle, which actually is a help for aiming. So, for me, a new white line would just add some confidence.

I have one that I bought this season. It still has the plastic on the sle, but, has been on the practice green a couple times and I use it in the rec room along with the rest of my SC putters. Like the look, feel, and balance. I've just been on a good run with one of my Squareback 2's and can't bring myself to change, yet.

I am actually considering the Futura 5CB currently. Have played a Scotty Newport for quite some time, but a bit of a bit of a left miss inside 10 feet has been bothering me for some time. Recent SAM analysis confirmed my recent tinkering with various mallets that a slight toe hand putter might be better. I have trialed the 5CB and 5.5M, TM Spider and Ardmore 3 red, Odyssey #7S O-works black, Evnroll ER2, Seemore MFGP2 Nashville and PXG mustang. All have slight toe hang, and Seemore does its think with the center shaft, etc on mitigating the left miss. The 5.5 and Spider are just too big (but understand why they are popular), Evnroll and PXG are way too clicky, and while I liked the Odyssey initially, the feel is uneven with slight miss hits. Would be great to see that putter with the white hot insert.

I have to admit that I initially rejected the 5CB on looks alone, but really warming up to it on performance and feel (and doesn't performance and feel put on those rose colored glasses!). The Ardmore 3 and Seemore MFGP2 are still under consideration. Going back for a second look with fitter, but 5CB is the front runner.

I have gamed the black DM Notchback for a few years, thought I would try 5MB to see if same shaft, toe hang, grip, etc... would help me with the higher MOI. Loved the look and really liked it on short putts but the longer putts outside 20 feet my speed control wasn't as good for some reason. It seemed to jump off the inserts sometimes and others seemed dead where the Notchback is very consistent distance wise. Probably played 15 rounds with it, going back to the NotchBack.

A few to many 3 putts due to distance control which I rarely had with the Notchback. Oh well that is what October/November golf is all about, trying new things. BTW love the new 818 H2 17 :-)
