Who doesn't love this thread.

The highest rated courses I have played are:

1. Pebble Beach-history, views, 6 easy holes to stroke your ego!

2. Winged Foot West - old money and a beast, need to bring your air game to hit the greens

3. Chicago Golf Club (birdied opening par 5 into the wind!) :D

4. The Country Club at Brookline-very laid back and maybe my best caddie ever there

5. Pacific Dunes-love this location and views of the ocean, 4 club wind

My favorite courses to play were:

1. Carnoustie - played with 2 guys from the US who were sub 5 handicaps and both were over 100!

2. Baltursol - first class experience all the way

3. PGA West Stadium - just plain hard

4. Pasatiempo - love the layout, quirky but fair

5. Butler National - no women around!

6. Turnberry Ailsa - history here big time and wonderful layout IMO, recreated Tom Watson's approach and chip

Jupiter Hills (Hills. Village is ok, just another Florida golf course imo immaculate conditioning but bland to me).

Bear's Club

Seminole

Palm Beach Par 3 the Most fun I have had on the golf course ever (mainly because it was with my dad and brother, but still a great track!)

The number one course for me in Florida.....

Jupiter Island Club. It's the most gorgeous property I have ever seen. Great conditioning, use every Club in the bag, but always a challenge with the sea breezes and firm, firm, firm fast greens!

It's a very cool place. I got to play it through work when it opened for season, pristine conditioning. I guess I just don't get it though, I don't see how it's number one in Florida imo. I imagine if I played it more I'd have more of an appreciation for it. The unique thing is there's some decent elevation changes (for Florida) the course turns in every direction which makes the ocean breeze challenging because it's always changing directions. It's a cool historic place for sure, it is a tough track too...I hit shots that I thought would be tight that ended up rolling 20 feet away or off the green entirely.

They do a sweet Pro-Member here, Justin Rose and CEO of Deutsche Bank? Won it last year, its a Fortune 500 and PGA Tour who's who.

It's going to get a lot of exposure in the next few years as the Walker Cup is scheduled to be contested at Seminole in 2021.

This whole area is a hotbed of superb golf courses, Trump Jupiter is literally right next door to Bears Club. McArthur and Medalist back up to each also.

1. Diamante - Davis Love

2. Prairie Dunes

3. Pacific Dunes

4. Pebble Beach

5. Spyglass

6. Mayakoba

7. Red Sky - Norman

8. Quivira

9. Blackwolf Run

10. Bandon Trails

Most underrated:

Quarry at Giants Ridge; fairways are mowed down like greens.

Probably the best conditioning I've ever seen.

Most overrated:

Whistling Straits - poor conditioning frankly for an alleged top 5 public, particularly for $400-

Streamsong Blue and Red; great, but underserving of their very high ranking

You have Blackwolf Run OVER Whistling Straits? Did you look at the scenery at WS? It isn't just all about the course, and while I loved BR, WS blows it out of the water. WS is alittle shaggy sometimes, but the greens have always been good when I played and layout doesn't change because of the natural bunkering etc. To each their own, but please don't let a rare case of WS maybe not being in top condition to put BR over it.
